A: While this product is designed to hold a 7" monitor a 5" monitor should work in it as well. It will just be a bit loose as it fits in the case.

A: Technically, carry on size is usually 22 x 14 x 9 or close to it. This bag (minus accessory/side bags) is 20x12x12. It's soft sided, so it may possibly fit/squeeze into an overhead bin. Expect to have to check it, but they may not ask if you make it as small as possible or can close the bin.
