This Lighweight LensHide Photo Blind Cover in Realtree AP Snow from LensCoat has the same design as the original LensHide but manages to be 33% lighter. It covers you, your camera/video gear, and your tripod. Made from lightweight, breathable camouflage material, this large mesh screen allows you to see your subjects while you are covered and out of sight, and doesn't obstruct your peripheral vision. Quick and easy to setup, the LensHide allows you to make adjustments to your gear so your movement is unnoticed by your subject. A hook-and-loop closure on the back keeps it in place and an elastic strap secures it to your lens. A sealed top slot allows for the use of an external flash. The LensHide folds into its own integrated storage and carry pouch with belt hoops. This pouch is an accessory pocket when the blind is in use.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this cap too large to fit a Nikon Z 24-70 F2.8 lens and lens hood? lens diameter looks to be about 4.25". thanks

A: This LensCoat RainCap Small would be fine for the Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8.

Q: 2. What is the difference between tall and normal Lens Hide version ?

A: The dimensions of the normal is 77"x68" and the Tall is 89"x68".

Q: 3. Can you lay down with this blind?

A: Yes you can but if you want to be closer to the ground, why not sit on a small stool.

Q: 4. Is this product works with 200 and 300 lenses?

A: This product comes with an extra sleeve, that fits on to the 500mm or 600mm or 800mm lens hoods. If you do not use that, then the rest of the rain cover fits 300mm very well, but will be a bit big for the 200mm lenses. Lenscoat has a smaller version of the same rain cover, which fits the 200 and 300mm lenses perfectly. Im very happy with this product for my canon 600mm lens. Worth every penny. :)

Q: 5. I am 6'2 and wondering if I the standard model would suit my height or get the 'TALL' version?

A: Tall You can use the extra material in other ways. I use a stadium seat with a tripod on the ground and I have a lot of freedom, enough to read have a drink and observe while waiting.

Q: 6. I'm a 5'7" woman. Can I stand comfortably in this blind, or do I need to go up to the tall version?

A: This one is best for your height. The large is really for one who is six feet or taller.

Q: 7. I have a smaller Sony a6000 mirror-less camera with a variety of lenses; all but one small than 67mm. Will this work?

A: No, it's too big. This is for a 300mm 2.8, the front diameter of this kind of lenses is about 110mm.

Q: 8. Can this be used as a universal lens hood by snugging one velcro strap around a lens and opening outer velco strap to mimic a lens shade?

A: I believe so. It is quite large, intended for large telephoto lenses.it would not be suitable for my 70-200 2.8.

Q: 9. I am a 5'7" woman. Is this blind tall enough to stand comfortably in, or do I need to go with the tall version?

A: This product is 77" which is about 6'4" so it will definitely be large enough for you.

Q: 10. Is this weather or rain resistant?

A: Yes, the LensCoat LensHide Lightweight Photo Blind is water and weather resistant.

I have only used the LensHide Photo Blind twice so far and it is a blast! It would probably get hot if you used it in the sun during the summer otherwise it's very comfortable. Fairly easy to use and the best part is it works! I have been able to setup with twenty feet of several bird feeders. Looking forward to using this quite frequently this fall and next spring.

Just got the blind and haven't had a chance to try it in the field yet. Did take a practice run on the porch just to see how well it fits over camera, lens, tripod, and me and results were good. Plenty of material to cover everything. Also folding blind back into its pouch was fairly easy even though my folding job was not as neat and compact as the factory fold. This leaves the pouch a little bulkier, but no big deal. The real test will be unfolding, setting it up, then closing back up in the real world. That is in the fields and woods where you may have to contend with mud, water, sticks, briars, etc. Also even though completely covered by the camo it will be important to be as still as possible since any body movements disturb the blind as well. However I knew this going in so I'll deal with it. I was really looking for something lite, portable, and quick to set up and hope this will be it.

I bought this mainly for waterfowl photography with my 600 f4. It works as intended and unfolds nicely out of its pouch but it is more difficult to get it back in the pouch neatly. It is very effective if you get it setup in the dark before birds become active but was a bit cumbersome. I would do a few dry runs before getting to location to familiarize yourself with its setup/use. On windy days it makes it more of a challenge but not impossible to use.

Lightweight cover for hiding from wildlife. Considerate amenities for the photographer. Very high quality fabric and value.

I've only had a chance to do a test set up and it looks very good. Only complaint is that the carrying case should be a separate piece. Otherwise a good blind!

The LensHide is light, easy to use and carry. Most importantly it's effective in helping you get closer to your subjects. My first use was to get close to kingfishers and green heron. I had both drop in, stay and conduct their natural behavior like I wasn't even there. Same result when I went under the hide, 14 feet from hummingbirds feeding. While sitting for hours, I'm able to drink my coffee or water and even check my cell phone without disturbing nervous wildlife. I have no complaints about the design, but I do have a user tip. The cap doesn't really attach securely to your head, so it can be a bit annoying when you turn your head back and forth and will definitely give you a bad hair day. But, if you wear a hat that fits your head, it makes the experience much more enjoyable. I use a floppy brim bucket style hat and fold the front part of the brim upward then pull the cap down over the hat. Now the hide moves with you verses sliding around on your head. I find it much, much more comfortable and improves the usability of the blind. If you need to step out for a moment, it's easy to lift the back of the material up, lay it over the camera and then quickly get back in. I've used it sitting down and standing up. Works great in both positions. I'm sure it will work equally as well laying down.

As always LensCoat does not disappoint. American made and at quality. Relatively lightweight and compact once in the pouch. I had a great success shooting waterfowl in this hide. I'm 6'-1 200lbs and I fit fine in it with Gitzo tripod and the Lowpro 600 pack

I've hunted and have made blinds for several decades. There is no doubt in my mind that this blind will work very well in the field. Easy to carry, set up, use and take down.
