A: No, the adapter does not transfer any electronics so the lens is manual and will not autofocus.

A: This adapter does not have electronic connections, so autofocus would not be retained. As for aperture, you would need to adjust that manually through the ring on the adapter (or on the lens if it has an external aperture ring).

A: The Rodenstock Apo-Rodagon-N 50mm f/2.8 Enlarging Lens has a 39mm mounting thread to use with enlargers. It is not made to be used with a copal shutter or copal lens board.

[Canon White] This lens replaced a Nikon El Nikkor 50 2.8 The first prints I made from it was clearly superior in terms of gradation and sharpness to the Nikon. It is a real gem of a lens, instilling confidence when I set out to make a print from a good 35mm negative. All 4 of my enlarger lenses are now German made glass. This Rodenstock has mechanical extras such as click/smooth aperture stop adjustments and aperature pre-set. 5

[Canon White] I recently was able to compare this with a Schneider 45mm APO that I have. Admittedly, at all magnifications, I simply couldn't tell the results apart. Both had great sharpness, almost identical contrast, lack of vignetting and even sharpness across the image. I prefer and use the Rodagon as it's a bit brighter for composition but could happily use either. I'm leaving this review in case someone is choosing between the two. I'd use a coin flip to decide! Remember that these tend to be sharpest relatively wide open (I use 4.0-5.6 most) so you need to have your equipment properly aligned as there's little depth of field to add forgiveness for alignment issues. Glass carriers help to extract what this lens can do, too. 5

[Canon White] Lens coat is a great investment for your long lenses, them provide protection from bumps and nicks in the field. The only drawback with this is that they are not in stock, takes time after order. 5

[Canon White] I shoot as a stringer for a local paper, the equipent I use is my own. My lens got hit by a yard marker the first night that I had the lens out, there wasn't a mark on the lens anywhere. The first mark I put on a lens really bothers me, this way I will put the pain off a little longer! 5
