A: This is a proprietary hood and only works with the 120-400mm. The correct part # is LH 840-01 but is no longer available. Please check our used department.

A: I've heard that the Metabones version4 is the best adaptor. Sony claims it focuses almost as fast as on Canon. I have no direct experience, however.

A: This is a good all around lens. This new one is even better than previous. I get great results on a variety of cameras. I haven't used with a 40D. The oldest camera I have used is a 7D and it works great.

A: There may be an adapter but it will not allow focus to infinity. Nikon SLRs have a deeper body with greater distance from lens mount to image sensor. This allows Nikon lenses to be mounted on Canon cameras and retain full focus range but not the other way around. Of course, even if the lens could be mounted, image stabilization, auto focus, etc would be lost.
