Providing high-quality wraparound illumination, the Litepanels Studio X2 Tungsten LED Fresnel Lightfrom Litepanels Studio X2 Tungsten LED Fresnel Lightfeatures a 5" Fresnel lens with an adjustable beam angle of 12 to 48° that can be further controlled by the included 4-leaf barndoors. Similar in output to a 300W tungsten Fresnel, this light provides a constant color temperature of 3200K and allows 0 to 100% continuous dimming for perfect skin tone rendering. A built-in keypad controller and backlit LCD display enable quick and efficient local control, and the Studio X2 also provides a 5-pin XLR connection for DMX and RDM protocols and operation. Designed for film, broadcast, and video production, this broadcast-quality fixture also features a super-silent fan with three different speed presets for use in sound-sensitive professional environments.

[CRI 90] First of all you can use Sony NPF batteries to power this light. You need a NPF battery plate with 12vdc out. It runs about 3 hours in full power. Rechargeable AA batteries also work great but half the light power (runs about an hour and 20min). It is a perfect size and weight fresnel light. You can shape the light with barn doors if it is used at 50 to 75 degree. It doesn’t get hot so you can run it all day. 5

[Fan] I bought these after using a small LED set. I feel LED is too cold for my tastes. I prefer the warminess of halogen light over LED which tend to emit blue. I now have much more options that come with the tungsten set and options to add-on compared to my little LED panels (with dimming). The only disadvantage with this product is that the Fresnel set can get hot and heat up the room. But I get 100 CRI, halogen spectrum light, no flicker, and sturdiness that LED does not have. I am thinking about buying some scrims and softboxes to help me further shape my light. 5

[60 W (Maximum)] Portable , powerful and extremely portable. Great piece of interview equipment , love the size. Had to add a couple of light stands. I use the lights most of the time on the AA batteries, makes it easy and convenient . 5

[60 W (Maximum)] I teach at a state school. We bought these as part of the Litepanels 4 Light 1X1 Daylight Flood LED Light Kit. Both the conversion and diffusion gets just work! And LEDs are SO much easier to work with in the field than other lights for the type of work my students usually encounter. 5

[50,000 Hours] If your here then you probably did not want to spend a lot of money on an Arri Tungsten, which is understandable budget wise. I can fairly say though,that this is a very good light especially at this price point. These may not be built to last for 4 or 5 years but ive been using these lights for 1 year and I've only had one break on me which in my opinion is pretty great for a light of this caliber. 5

[60 W (Maximum)] I am an established photographer and I was looking for some new lighting. I found this and decided to get it because it was portable and lightweight. I do a lot of outside shooting and this is the perfect light for that. It does not get hot either, which is very lovely. A great investment! 5

[Tungsten] I bought this Sola 4+ fresnel for use as a back light in a typical 3 point lighting scenario. It fits the bill quite well I think. I considered the ARRI L5 for this because it is bi-color, but my budget didn't quite allow for it, so the Sola 4+ was the next best option. The Sola 4+ is light enough to place on a boom without excessive counterweights and allows for easy rigging. The fixture is mostly plastic which gives it a bit of a cheap feel however. The barn doors have plastic hinges but the doors are aluminum. Considering the plastic makes it light weight, which is a huge bonus if you are travelling with this fixture, I think it is a reasonable trade off. The focus range allows fine tuning and quite a narrow spot. Fan is quite enough that most audio situations would not pick it up. The fixture has a small form factor but it packs a pretty good punch for its size. Because it is only daylight balanced, I purchased the 5 piece CTO pack which includes a opal frost diffusion. Not sure I will use the DMX function but it's nice to know it's there incase I do. Overall, I think this light is a pretty good value but it needs to be handled and packed carefully to avoid possible damage. I gave the Sola 4+ five stars because it met my expectations based on the advertising and published specs. Now Litepanels needs to make a bi-color version of this fresnel to truly perfect it! 5
