Designed for covert surveillance, the Hikvision DS-2CD6425G1-20 2MP Indoor Network Cameraincludes a main body and an L-shaped sensor unit with a 2.8mm pinhole lens and 6.6' cable for flexible placement. The camera uses a 1/2.8" progressive scan CMOS sensor to capture 1080p resolution video at 30 fps. A 93.9° horizontal field of view is delivered by the 2.8mm lens. Two-way audio is possible thanks to an audio input and output. A memory card slot supports microSD cards up to 256GB (available separately). Integrated PoE technology simplifies connectivity by enabling the transfer of power and data through a single cable.

Also what is the difference between Q2 and I2 versions of this NVR? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A: This NVR could easily store up to a month of footage depending upon the frequency of motion triggered events, frame rate and compression type chosen. The Q2 series tops out at 4K UHD (8mp) (1 camera) resolution and the I2 series will host up to 12 MP network cameras (Hikvision and third-party).

A: No, the Hikvision M Series DS-9664NI-M8 64-Channel 8K NVR (No HDD) will not fully support Amcrest IP cameras such as IP8M-2779EW-AI.

Q: 3. I'd like to use this item as an intercom inside my house and want to make voice announcements without any human interaction an the receiving screen. When calling one screen from another, can you connect without an individual having to answer an incoming call?

A: That is not currently a function available.

A: Yes you would need to purchase 2 screens and the doorbell intercom would need to be the 2 button unit. In the ivms-4200 software on the computer you can set it up that each button will ring a different monitor.

A: It is a proprietary signal. It won't connect via any other Wifi connection.

Q: 8. Is this NVR compatible with the Hikvision phone app?

A: Yes, almost all Hikvision products can be integrated on the Hik-Connect mobile app for iPhone and Android.

[1] I've bought this model before and I was pleased to discover that they include a microphone now! The firmware is also newer and the config webpage works a bit better. Camera is slightly more squared off and less rounded, but overall dimensions are the same. 5

[Yes] It’s hikvision great camera for not a lot of money compared to axis. The fish eye lense is great and can see everything. Only down fall is that it’s stuck in the fish eye aspect, zooming in is done through software and the NVR software that I’m using blue iris doesn’t support that. 5

[2.8mm] After 7 years Axis finally came out with an upgrade to the M1065. Improvements in all functions of the camera. The image is brighter and sharper even though the maximum resolution is still 1920x1080. With upgraded CPU and memory the camera can run the latest firmware updates with all the added features. Use cameras with Axis Companion security software. Because of the software integration it is worth the extra expense. The default camera has no WiFi or power supply, powered by POE ($300). The wireless/POE kit (Axis TM1901) is another $70. The image shows the camera mounted on an Axis mount that is an additional cost. Installed 4 of these cameras with no issues wired or wireless. 5
