SCA is a collection of highly effective algorithms that optimize the performance of WIDI in any given situation. SCA stands for Dual Role Automation, Automatic Pairing Mode, Smart Hub Functionality, Latency Reduction Optimization, and Range Performance Optimization.

  • Ultralow 3 ms latency
  • Go pro with ground-breaking latency reduction
  • Advanced jitter and latency optimization capability

  • High performance for studio and stage
  • Operate with 65' range

  • Easily configure WIDI groups via WIDI app or with group auto-learn mode.
  • Create fixed pairs and 1-to-4 MIDI Split/Thru or 4-to-1 MIDI Merge with one (1) central WIDI device and up to four (4) peripherals consisting of WIDI or standard Bluetooth MIDI devices over 16 MIDI channels.
  • Run multiple groups at once with automatic pairing from default memory.

Each WIDI device implements high-performance Bluetooth Low Energy 5 (BLE 5) with twice the speed, four times the range, and Adaptive Frequency Hopping technology for minimal interference, secure connectivity, and optimal wireless performance.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are the line outs 3/4 able to be switchable outputs? For example I use Vmix for streaming and need to be able to send something different to my speakers than what is going to my headphones. So I want to make sure I can route output 3/4 as like just playback and main outputs as the master.

A: Line Outputs 3/4 will output the same audio that is coming from your main monitor outputs 1/2. The reason for outputs 3/4 is primarily for routing to outboard gear like reverb or effects processors and then bring that audio back into your line inputs, to mix with your existing audio. You can also monitor through another pair of monitors using line outs 3/4.

Q: 2. Does this come with any software?

A: This interface includes Ableton Live Lite, MOTU Performer Lite, over 100 instruments for Performer Lite, as well as 6 GB of loops and one-shot samples.

Q: 3. Can this handle a low gain sensitive mic like EV RE20..without cloud lifter ?

A: While it does have enough gain for a mic of this nature, some users have reported noise when turning up the gain, so you may want to consider a fethead or cloud lifter anyway, for the headroom.

Q: 4. Can we output audio from both Input 1 and Input 2 simultaneously to the usb so that we hear both inputs at the same time (mono-mix or stereo mix)?

A: Yes. This will allow two simultaneous inputs.

Q: 5. Will this work on a 2015 iMac?

A: This should connect to a 2015 iMac via the included USB C to A cable. Your macOS will need to be 10.11 or higher in order for this unit to operate.

Q: 6. Can you use this to record Skype calls into your DAW i.e., Garageband?

A: The best way to do that would be to have the Skype coming in from a mobile device like your smartphone or tablet and connect it to one of the line inputs on the M2 using a cable like this one. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/157944-REG/Comprehensive_XLRP_MPS_6ST_XLRP_MPS_6ST_EXF_Stereo_Mini.html You would be able to adjust the level between the Skype call and the microphone that you would have connected to the Motu M2 interface.

Q: 7. Have the drivers been updated to work correctly with Apple Silicon M1 and M2?

A: Yes, the MOTU M2 USB Audio-MIDI Interface drivers are now compatible for use with Apple silicon M1 and M2 computers.

Q: 8. I can't get the m4 to turn itself off when the computer shuts down. Has anyone got this to work? Every other usb device does this.

A: The MOTU M4 has a physical on/ff switch, so if your computer is sleeping it will remain on. In order to have it shut down with your computer, you may have to adjust settings in your computer to stop power being sent to USB when shut down.

Q: 9. does this interface work with Beyerdynamic DT 990 pro 250 ohms?

A: Yes the Motu M2 headphone output can drive 250 ohm headphones.

Q: 10. Does the motu m2 can work fine with a pair of Yamaha HS7 studio monitors?

A: Yes, they will work well together. You will just need a pair of 1/4" TRS to TRS cable to connect them: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1036641-REG/pearstone_pm_trs03_pm_series_trs_m_to.html

[37 W] I just got the MOTU M4 for video editing and I couldn't be happier. The Motu M4 is hooked up to my MacBook via the Anker 577 Thunderbolt 3 docking station and the sound coming out of my Yamaha HS5's is flawless. I'm very pleased. It looks great sitting on my desk,.

[USB Bus Power] After reading TONS of reviews, the conclusion was that, for the price, the M2 was the best interface there was. And I agree with this statement. Great interface!

[Yes] Solid build quality- plug and play operation - works fantastic with my MacOS, Windows, and a Linux distribution - used for practicing guitar, multiple sources for recording and with various mics for Zoom meetings - I like the separate on/off switch and versatility of all the balanced and unbalanced inputs/outputs.

[2x USB-C 2.0] Had constant issues with my Windows PC trying to do MIDI over Bluetooth with a new synth I had. Driver problems, Bluetooth problems, configuration settings, etc,
Literally spent hours multiple times trying to get things to work at all.
This WIDI Bud Pro dongle solved them within minutes of plugging it in!

It handles both the USB MIDI & the Bluetooth LE duties on it's own, and connected to my synth over Bluetooth within seconds and finally let me get back making music.
NO more Windows screwing around trying to figure out what is going on.

I'd previously purchased another CME MIDI product and was very happy with that, they seem to have MIDI & Bluetooth figured out!
Now no cables or PC nightmare at all to use my new Bluetooth-capable synth.

If you are a Windows user, save yourself a HUGE headache and get one of these, I don't regret it at all.

[Yes] Bought this for home use with Macbook Air M2. I also got a USB-C hub (Sitecom) and was worried it would have issues when connecting via a hub, but it works perfectly fine. The sound is fantastic, having the display is great, and the knobs are a joy to use. Overall a very solid piece of hardware. Very happy with my purchase.

[USB Bus Power] Easy to set up. Good Value. Worth the upgrade for the extra in/out ports and monitoring options. Low Latency when monitoring in a DAW. Plus the security of knowing that MOTU is best in class for MIDI routing, and this has two MIDI ports--a winning combo for an audio interface.

[3 ms] I love knobs and audio level meters. It's like enjoying the journey and not just the destination. I purchased this so I can connect my XLR mic and record. For this purpose, it's amazing and I can stop here. However, if you are also looking to get an equally awesome DAC out of this machine, then don't. I have an ifi Zen DAC V2 connected to my setup and when I listen to both side by side, it's lear that the MOTU M2 DAC is just for monitoring.

[USB Bus Power] It's hard to get. But if you get motu m2, it must be powerful gear for you.
