The historic facility was originally built in the 1940s, adjacent to Rosenhügel-Filmstudios as part of Film City Vienna. Until 1955, numerous film scores were recorded in the main hall (Stage A) that is large enough to accommodate a 130 piece orchestra. During the 1960s, eminent classical artists such as Karl Böhm, Herbert von Karajan, Yehudi Menuhin, Sviatoslav Richter, and Mstislav Rostropovich chose the outstanding acoustics of this former Synchronhalle for their now legendary recordings.

The Vienna Symphonic Library took over the massive building in 2013 and renovated it in collaboration with the renowned Walters-Storyk Design Group and architects Schneider+Schumacher. In its first year of operation, Stage A hosted film music recordings for productions such as Inferno, The Crown, Lego Batman, and Ghost in a Shell, in addition to several video games, commercials, classical recordings, and many others.

The facility’s 5813 ft² main hall has a trapezoidal floor plan and a height of 34.5 to 40 ft. The colossal room-in-room construction stands out with an exceptionally low noise-floor of 16 dBA, even with the air conditioner running. Stage A features a reverb time of 1.6 to 1.8 seconds, and in contrast to other scoring stages, there is no masking effect on the low frequencies. It is characterized by a lush and warm sound, while at the same time providing excellent localization both in depth and in the stereo panorama.

Hosting MIR 3D RoomPack 6, Vienna MIR Pro 3D accurately represents this wonderful vibrant hall from two different angles, providing two typical main microphone positions for longitudinal (portrait) and transverse (wide) orchestra seating arrangements. A total of 6000 impulse responses were captured to provide the complete acoustic impression of Synchron Stage Vienna’s main hall.

A: this is about the correct size for a 15in Macbook Pro, However i advise against buying this item, because of how shakee it is and how my own macbook pro fell offafter a lite nudge. any weight makes this sag and wobble. 10in x 14in -to answer your direct question.

[Download] Lots of articulations that play well together. I also find the synchron player easier/faster to use than Vienna's older Vienna Instrument player or Kontakt based sample sets. Note that Elite sits somewhere between Chamber and Pro/I orchestra in terms of number of strings. I find that the number of strings in the Pro/I orchestra is enough that you lose some of that sense of 'bow on string'. With Elite you still hear some of that 'bow on the string'. Layering Elite on Pro is also really useful. 5

[Download] This is my seventh virtual piano. See my review of the Bösendorfer also by VSL — this is just as supremely recorded and I prefer the Steinway sound. It's hard to see how anyone will ever do any better than this. There are 10 different microphone positions (plus the room mix which incorporates several of them in the standard library; I think the full library gives added richness). I use eight of them (not the Main or the main-C) and the plate reverb at 30% which I like better than the algorithmic reverb or the delay. If you can't afford the full, the standard will still be superior to anything else out there. 5

[Download] One of the great things about MOTU Symphonic Instruments is that it runs on G4 processor, and even on 256MB of RAM. Consequently, on the even the cheapest of the modern laptops (just like my 2MB Mac Air Intel i5) it works smoothly and loads all the instruments instantly. To me it's the best thing ever to run software release in 2006 on a 2012 computer, because it just runs great. And the sounds are simply breathtaking. Even the concert piano is mind blowing, really lending itself for classical piano playing in real time from my digital piano keyboard. And the price could not be better with B&H special discount offers. I took advantage of the discount, and I am a very happy camper now. Oh, and the authorization process with iLok is very good. I installed MOTU Symphonic Instruments on two computers, and to run it, I simply insert the iLok USB dongle, and voila. It's simply great. 5
