[0.785 lb] It appears I was one of the first to receive this handy accessory after having it on order for several months. It will only work with the newest 18-135mm Nano lens (so far) but it is my favorite all around lens for video and stills as it has such a great range (29mm-200mm equivalent). Just insert the four (included) AAA batteries, hold it up under the lens, turn the locking lever and you are ready to go! For handheld shooting it cradles nicely in your left hand and it is easy to operate the zoom lever with your left thumb, leaving your right hand free. I am using it on the 80D and with the tilt LCD it is simple to hold and operate at waist level. I normally use a monopod and shot some music at a festival yesterday and it all worked great. I only used the High zoom setting so far. It seems more appropriate for action shots. I will be shooting a speaker in two days and will definitely use the Slow setting then. It is possible to feather the zoom as well. Just a light push on the zoom lever and it starts creeping. Push harder and it gets up to full speed. It will take using it more to fine tune my zooms, but for the almost unbelievable price of $150 this is a great tool! It does add just a little bit of bulk to the camera so I see no need to leave it attached if shooting just stills. It completely met the expectations that I had. I hope more are available soon for everyone to enjoy. Good job Canon!

[0.785 lb] I bought this because I sometimes use my R5 for astro photography, which requires very long exposures at a static location and can quickly drain a battery. It plugs into the USB port on the camera and when the camera is on it becomes the camera's power source (the battery symbol in the viewfinder is grayed out). It also charges the camera's battery when the camera is turned off. Using it will extend the life of (expensive) batteries by keeping them from stacking up numerous charge cycles in situations where it is practical to plug in your camera.

[0.785 lb] I do long-run (overnight) exposures. The lack of a battery grip on the Canon R7 could have been a deal breaker. It turns out this was a better solution: you can run the camera off the AC for as long as needed. Also, this lets you charge the battery in camera when not shooting. This is a great convenience, and at a better price than Canon's equivalent.

[0.785 lb] I made sure that I purchased the correct lens for my EOS 80D, knowing that I wanted this particular Zoom Adapter. I am really pleased with it. The only issue I have had is - not being able to move the camera back properly, on my tripod, to balance it (this adapter gets in the way) - however I am happy to find a plate that will allow this.

We have to put the battery in the chamber, plug the power adapter and turn on the camera.
That doesn't mean the battery is being used during this process.
Battery icon is greyed out which means the adapter is powering the camera at that time.
Unplug the adapter and the battery icon will light up.
The only downside I found was that it prevents you from using the mini USB port for video streaming.
But I can still use the hdmi for video.
