A: The, Chimera Vortex8 Medium Lightbank w/ Frame is a softbox only. It comes with a frame so it attaches to the Vortex8 led panel light. The softbox comes with an inner baffle and a front diffuser. It does not come with an eggcrate.

A: No, the Chimera Lightbank for Aputure AL-F7 is not compatible with the Aputure MC Pro light.

Q: 9. Does the Chimera 1648 have a silver interior? It appears that the front face is interchangeable. Is there any light loss compared to a bare Area48 (I ask because the DOP choice soft box uses a silver interior to reflect some of the side spill forward and increases the output by 1 stop).

A: The Chimera 1648 No Frame Softbox for BBS Area 48 has a soft silver interior. It comes with two (2) different front screens, one with 1/2 density diffusion and one with 1/4 density diffusion.

[23 x 21.9 x 4"] Know that the Rotolight barn doors are necessary to use this. It is not at first obvious that the barn door wings slip into almost invisible pockets that are built into the Chimera. A simple installation note would have been a time-saver. Pleasing quality of light. It would be nice if the Rotolight carry-pouch was big enough to include the barn doors and Chimera folded up. 5

[Yes] I have had a few of these a few weeks now and really like them. They are made of good material that seems like it will last. They worked great for the project I purchased them for and I look forward to using this one and others by Chimera in the future. 5

[23 x 21.9 x 4"] This is my second most used window pattern from the Chimera Window Patterns Kit. I use it to light boring walls behind talent on interview shoots. I've got to confess I made my own cucoloris pattern using foam board and it looks downright creepy. Boris Karloff sort of stuff. So I broke down and purchased the Chimera patterns. I prefer the larger Chimera patterns when trying to add a splash to walls, the smallest patterns seem better suited to me for extremely small areas. I appreciate and stand behind the Chimera brand for their quality, portability as well as tried and true safety while on location. Great product. Recommended for anybody's kit. 5

[3.975 lb] I’ve owned the S60 version of this bag for 6 years, and I expect this new product to be as tough and long-lasting as the other. I noticed the inclusion of an inner baffle, which makes sense since the Vortex has more punch than the S60, so the spread on the front diffusion is spread evenly. I get it, but I prefer the greater output of the Vortex without the baffle. It’s still quite soft. 5
