Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Minox appear to not publish exit pupil distance eye relief. This measurement is critical to know for eye glasses wearers. What is it for these binoculars?

A: A ccording to the Minox manual for the Minox 8x56 X-HD Binoculars BH #MI8X56XHDB • MFR #10023 the rye relief is 20mm. https://cache.tradeinn.com/images/pdf/manuales/eng_minox_manu_xhd_series.pdf

Q: 2. Where are Meopro HD plus made? Or, assembled from parts from where?

A: The country of origin for the Meopta 10x42 MeoPro HD Plus Binoculars BH #ME10X42MPHDP • MFR #1049669 is the Czech Republic.

Q: 3. Would you explain the difference between the Leica 8X42 ultravid and the 8X42 noctivid? Are either armored?

A: The Ultravid HD-Plus is indeed based on an older mechanical and optical design that has been around for a long time. Its a true and tested performer. The Noctivid is Leica's newest optical and mechanical designs which many individuals at Leica Camera, Inc, worked on for over 6 years before introducing. It shows numerous easily noticeable improvements in performance over not only our existing Ultravid designs, but arguably has been referred to as the new performance benchmark for all. The Ultravid line is complete with 8 different models of full sized binoculars in 32 mm, 42 mm, and 50 mm objective lens models, while the Noctivid is only available in 8x42 and 10x42 models. Comparing apples to apples between the Leica 8x42 Ultravid HD-Plus, and the Leica 8x42 Noctivid binoculars, one immediately appreciates the Noctivids closer focus (almost 5 feet closer than the Ultravid product, down to near 6 feet) as well as the Noctivid's very obvious wider field-of-view (443 feet versus 389 feet at 1,000 yards). Especially when comparing in challenging lighting, the Noctivids superior light delivery is easily demonstrable and since delivered at very high transmission across the entire visible spectrum, the Noctivids high dynamic range lends itself to a seemingly unparalleled depth of focus front to back that offers amazing eye comfort. This feature also lends itself to a very quick focus system. With so much of the field from 50 feet to infinity in focus or near focus so at once, most users find they barely have to refocus and adjustments being made are mere degrees on the focus wheel. This means you are spending more time appreciating your subject in focus and less time trying to get the subject in focus.

Q: 4. where is this binocular manufactured?

A: This model is made in Germany.

Q: 5. I am looking for a high end -high quality Bino. I am down to this model Leica 10 x 42 and the Swarovski 10 X 42 swaroVision. Can anyone help with comparison info, especially if you have used these glasses? I will use these mostly for wildlife viewing and helping me find good images for wildlife photography. Thanks for your analysis. J.L.

A: Personally I would go with the Swarovski EL 10x42 SwaroVision Binoculars. I have compared both models side by side in a low light setting, and the Swaro's are superior. There is a slight brightness difference. Also there is more glass in both barrels of the Swarovski's. Build quality wise it's a better binocular too.

Q: 6. Abbe-Knig or Schmidt-Pechan prism? Old model or typo?

A: This model is Abbe-Knig. Also this is a newer model.

Q: 7. Does the "Open Box" model with all the accessories as the brand new model, including the same warranty?

A: The Open Box Model does not qualify for the Brand New Warranty.

Q: 8. Why did you choose this model over the LEICA Ultravid HD 10x32?

A: I am not quite sure what you mean. However I do know most people choose the 42mm Size because it is brighter, and better in low light. The 32mm are lighter weight, however not as bright.

Q: 9. Is this fog proof?

A: The Meopta 8x25 MeoSport Binoculars BH #ME8X25MSB • MFR #572850 is waterproof. Which means it is also fogproof.

Q: 10. What makes this mode 2 - 3 times more expensive than the same 8x56 models with HD glass?

A: Meopta 8x56 MeoStar B1 Plus Binoculars have the follow features whihc are not found in the lower cost models: Space-Saving Schmidt-Pechan Roof Prisms, MeoShield Exterior Coatings, and a 22mm eye relief.

[6.6 mm] I bought one of the last pairs of the Zeiss Conquest HD 8x56 from weeks of research. These are being replaced with the new incoming HDX series. The price on these, right below $1500, was my max budget. I wanted a pair of low light binos for hunting late into the evening or early morning. These have exceeded my expectations. From testing, I was a able to view a whipporwill bird late after sunset one evening on a tree branch about 50 yards away. To my surprise, I was able to clearly see the very fine details in the birds feathers, even noting it's eyes blinking with such clarity and perfectly balanced color/contrasting. The other test was a late evening sit across a 1/2 acre food plot surrounded by trees. Even at 45 minutes past sunset on a quarter moon clear evening, I was able to see the fine details in the tree bark 150 yards from my stand to back of food plot. I was able to sit a full 55 minutes after sunset with the assumption to recognize and identify deer to shoot (our law is legal harvest 1 hour past sunset or 1 hour before sunrise). These Zeiss Conquest 8x56 easily allow me another 10-15 minutes of dimming light ( late evening or early morning hunting), which can make a difference in hunting highly pressured bucks, in comparing to my $500 8x42 binos of another well known brand. I heavily researched other brands that were less expensive and more expensive but these seem to fit my needs as a great balance with performance and cost. These Zeiss Conquest HD 8x56 will now be a part of my permanent gear carried into the field for gun hunting.

[12 x 9.5 x 4.3"] I couldn't be happier with these binoculars. They produce a very bright and clear image and are comfortable to look through for hours at a time. I primarily use them mounted to a tripod, but they can be free-handed for quick scans if needed. If you're looking to purchase a pair of 15x, these are a great option.

[12 x 9.5 x 4.3"] Impressed, if lightning is good I can tell if it’s a buck at 2 miles and if it’s a shooter at 1 mile.
Spotted some elk at 4 miles first day.
Do show heat waves if you’re looking at ground level, not so much across canyon. Get a tripod with A5 head.

[56 mm] This binocular does everything it says and everything you need with the utmost precision and quality. While I have never looked through the comparable magnification and objectives from Zeiss and Swarovski, I have looked through many other sizes from those brands, as well as Leica, Nikon, Vortex, Pentax and more in multiple other magnifications and objective sizes and for the money there is nothing better than the Meopta. At half the price of a comparable Zeiss, Swarovsky or Leica, you couldn't possibly get twice the binocular, in fact the Meopta are so good that I can't imagine much measurable improvement at all, let alone something commensurate to the cost. You will not be disappointed and you will have a world class optic for half the price. I have since bought the 8 x 42 Optika HD model for a more all around lens to keep in the car and it is equally impressive at an unbelievable price.

[6° (Actual)] I purchased the Meopta 15x56 HD binoculars and I do have to say I was a little bit hesitant but after using them for a Antelope hunt and after 38hours of looking through them I am nothing but impressed and would recommend them over any other pair of binoculars!!!! Amazing clarity

[6.6 mm] Oh man...do I love these binoculars! The optical and construction quality are excellent. These binoculars are relatively large and heavy, but there is no way around that considering the power of Magnification and the large size of the objective lenses. To offset the weight and shakiness of image buy an Outdoorsman binocular adapter and small ball head and a quality monopod and you will have an excellent portable and relatively lightweight support system. Buy these now for $1300.00! 7 months I bought these from B&H and they were $1400.00!

[-3.5 to +3.5] I purchased these for a mid range glassing optic while hunting. I had surgery on my eyes several years ago and my vision is different in each eye. I will say the diopter adjustment makes the world of difference while using these bino’s. I would recommend getting a tripod though. You won’t hold these up for too long

[6.6 mm] This pair of binoculars is phenomenal. I purchased them to maximize my low light viewing for hunting, fishing, and bird watching and they have exceeded my expectations. My deer hunting does not involve super long distances so the 8X magnification is perfect. The binoculars are also amazing in bright light. You will not be disappointed for whatever use you can imagine for them.
