The black, redesigned Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod Kitfrom Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod Kitbuilds on the success and popularity of the previous 190 series with professional hardware and convenience features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor.

Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190XPRO3's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.5" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg warmers on two legs for cold or inclement weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. Finally, Manfrotto's insistence on form following function has yielded a tripod that you'll not only be happy to use but you'll be happy to be seen with, too.

The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.

One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.

The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.

The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.

Each leg has user selection of four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain. The selectors are manufactured according to most innovative ergonomic standards to prevent fingers and nails being trapped in the upper casting.

The entire shape of the tripod has been modified and made more manageable and stylish. The complete redesign of its functional elements shows a particular attention to aesthetics and details: the brand name, for example, appears in many sections of the new 190, including the two legwarmers made of comfortable rubber to provide a secure grip and prevent the conduction of heat and cold in extreme weather conditions.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How would I use the tripod in very low position without having center pole in 90 degree position? Can I take the center pole out and attach the ball head somehow? I want camera in normal position on tripod (not at 90 degrees) but have the tripod very low. Thanks.

A: Unfortunately, the Manfrotto XPRO series of tripods (such as this 190XPRO3) can only achieve its lowest positions by laterally extending the center column. Other versions of Manfrotto tripods offer a low-height center column mounting piece, but the unique design of the XPRO tripods does not.

Q: 2. What is the maximum height with and without the centre column extended?

A: For the Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod the Max Height without Center Column is 53.2 inches / 135.1 cm.

Q: 3. What are the biggest differences between this model and the older 190xpro model? Does the new features compensate the extra dollars for the newer version?

A: The new model has improved leg locks, lateral collar and leg angling hardware as well as improved sleeving in the leg sections.

Q: 4. Are the flip leg locks made of aluminum of plastic?

A: The levers are plastic, but the clamp/lock that holds the legs in position are aluminum.

Q: 5. which sturdy ,aluminum manfrotto tripod and a good quality head, would you use on a pentax 80ed spotting scope that will be used on full magnification thank you

A: For a sturdy, aluminum Manfrotto tripod with a head included, check out the 190XPROB tripod with MVH500AH fluid head: http://bhpho.to/1g9VOUs

Q: 6. Description is not clear. Video and description state 3 stages. Still photo shows 2. Which is it??

A: The Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod has 3 leg sections.

Q: 7. I have a nikon d3400 with a few different types of lenses. I wanted to take this camera and pick up this tripod for an overseas vacation. Is this tripod a good purchase or should i go with a different one?

A: My experience over about 6 months of use in 2016 is great. I use it with my Sony Alpha 7II with both 50mm and 24 to 240mm OSS zoom lenses. Very sturdy, retractable handles make for compact transport and storage. Very high quality build also means a bit heavier than lesser tripods. I'd buy it again. Worth ever penny.

Q: 8. what is the difference between this and Manfrotto MT055XPRO3-3W Aluminum Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head? (other than there load capacity?)

A: Hi--the load capacity, the maximum height, the minimum height, the weight, and the folded length are different for the two tripods you are asking about.

Q: 9. What would be the best head to use on this tripod for purposes of taking overhead food shots with my Canon 5D Mark III? Thanks in advance. :-)

A: I currently use a Slik pistol grip with good ergonomics and safety.

Q: 10. will the half-ball 75mm Manfrotto 502a fluid head work on this tripod ?

A: No, the 502 Fluid video Head with 75mm half ball will not fit on the Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod, as the tripod is not capable of taking a half bowl of any size. Alternatively one can use the Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base, BH #MAMVH502AH (https://bhpho.to/3d9niTB).

[Yes] I produce video and photography and this tripod works well for either. Great construction and easy to adjust legs are great for me as everything I do has to be quick and lightweight.

[Aluminum] I really like this tripod. I like how sturdy and well built it is. It has a lot of great features to it. The only thing that I would like to have changed is more leg positions available with all the same other features.

[Aluminum] I'm a food photographer and have been using this for every shoot since I got it.

It's fluid and really easy to get the exact angles I want. The bubble levels are helpful too.

Note: If you need to tilt your camera 90° don't forget to pull out the handle for one of the adjustment knobs. I didn't realized the pulled out at first and was wondering why I kept hitting the knob when tilting the camera.

[Yes] the 3-way pan / tilt head is very useful for filming scenes from above/overhead! We are in an afterschool arts program and use it for our claymation class frequently.

[5.45 lb] It's my second time buying this tripod for a variety of professional photo and video projects. The tripod is flexible and light enough to travel and set up creatively. My first one lasted about 3 years until one of the legs started going loose and the head screw did not want to screw anymore.

[3/8"-16 Male] I've owned a couple of lesser tripods for years. Had myself convinced I could hand hold any photograph I needed to take. So, those tripods seldom got used. I finally got it through my head that if I wanted my wildlife photos to be anywhere nearly as good as my friends I needed to start using a tripod for all the reasons anybody SHOULD use a tripod. Decided on the Manfrotto after reviewing others comments and evaluating my desire to spend big bucks on something I wasn't sure I'd use. I took the new tripod for a spin at a nearby National Wildlife Refuge and now I'll likely never take another hand held photo again. This tripod is well built and provides a solid foundation for my camera/lens. I'd buy it again in a heart beat.

[Aluminum] I have used the tripod only one weekend so far, but I like it. Have not used the folding arm function, but tried it in the living room. I was concerned whether I could adjust the camera to a horizontal view using the arm where the camera will be vertical in its regular position. With a pan/tilt head, looked like I could get any position I desired. I have had several Manfrotto tripods and the one beef I've had is there was no way to tighten the legs when folding them out so that they didn't flop around after a number of years of use. This tripod came with a small tool and it looks like there are screws/bolts on each leg that can be tightened (or loosened) for that purpose. So I believe its an improvement over older models.
