The black, redesigned Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Tripod with XPRO Ball Headfrom Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Tripod with XPRO Ball Headbuilds on the success and popularity of the previous 190 series with professional hardware and convenience features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor.

Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190XPRO3's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.5" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg warmers on two legs for cold or inclement weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. Finally, Manfrotto's insistence on form following function has yielded a tripod that you'll not only be happy to use but you'll be happy to be seen with, too.

The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.

One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.

The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.

The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.

Each leg has user selection of four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain. The selectors are manufactured according to most innovative ergonomic standards to prevent fingers and nails being trapped in the upper casting.

The entire shape of the tripod has been modified and made more manageable and stylish. The complete redesign of its functional elements shows a particular attention to aesthetics and details: the brand name, for example, appears in many sections of the new 190, including the two legwarmers made of comfortable rubber to provide a secure grip and prevent the conduction of heat and cold in extreme weather conditions.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work well as a support for my Ikan 31 camera slider?

A: I also have a 24'' slider with this tripod- but I would be careful using a slider with more length.. depending on what kind of rig you have up top, there could be enough weight to create some wobble- I would recommend using 2 tripods.

Q: 2. Can this tripod hold Canon 5d Mark IV with a Canon 600mm f4 lens?

A: No .. i would not recommend using a ball head of any kind with a big heavy lens like a 600mm f/4. it may support the weight. but it would be dangerously unstable. the first time you let go of the camera without having it locked down. it's going to flop down, lens dive. even possibly hard enough to damage the lens mount. or topple the whole rig over. if you spent the big bucks for the good glass. get a serious support set up. for a lens that large. I'd recommend a Wimberley WH 2 II, and a Gitzo 4 series tripod. the best tool for the job. the choice of most professionals. and made specifically for setups like yours. of course you can get them both a B&H ..

Q: 3. will the half-ball 75mm Manfrotto 502a fluid head work on this tripod ?

A: No, the 502 Fluid video Head with 75mm half ball will not fit on the Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod, as the tripod is not capable of taking a half bowl of any size. Alternatively one can use the Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base, BH #MAMVH502AH (https://bhpho.to/3d9niTB).

Q: 4. Is this tripod enough to support Nitrotech 608 head? I'm trying to assemble a reliable travel tripod with good counterbalance head. Would the 190xpro4 be better?

A: Yes, the Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 can easily suppor the Nitrotech 608 and whatever camera is compatible with it.

Q: 5. Does this tripod come with a carry bag?

A: No, this tripod does not.

Q: 6. I'm not exactly sure what it's called but.. does this tripod have the ball joint that allows you to level the tripod head without having to constantly adjusting the legs to level?

A: Yes, the included ballhead is a ball-joint type of action and can be used to level the camera off rather than adjusting the legs.

Q: 7. Bob the traveller, was wondering if the 055 tripod can hold up in high winds of (30-50 mph)?I live by the beach and we experience high winds at times. Normal summer to winter winds is 20-30 mph. Thanks i appreciate for your asistance.

A: This is a very heavy duty tripod, when I'm in high winds I sandbag it and it holds up well. I highly recommend this tripos it's well built, and the ball head is excellent, hope this helps.

Q: 8. Description is not clear. Video and description state 3 stages. Still photo shows 2. Which is it??

A: The Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod has 3 leg sections.

Q: 9. Are the legs on this tripod able to move to different angles. Im looking for a tripod that can go out to 80.

A: Sure, Here are the angles per the catalog: Leg Angles25,46,66,88

Q: 10. What is the diameter of the base plate?

A: The diameter of the base plate on the Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod is 2.36" (60mm).

[3/8"-16 Male] I bought this particular unit based on blog recommendations
and reviews on B&H. I needed a sturdy tripod for a photography class and this leg and ball head combination is exactly what I needed. The dual levels are great when shooting on uneven ground, which happens most of the time outdoors. The XPRO ball head is infinitely adjustable and the controls are easy to understand. With a 17.6-pound capacity it can handle my heaviest camera and lens with ease. I am 6'2 tall so the height of this tripod allows a comfortable shooting position. It is a little heavy, but the stability is worth a few extra pounds. Please be sure to read the manual so that you will
understand all of the adjustments and features that Manfrotto offers.

[3/8"-16 Male] Been using it a while and still works great for me. Solid. Not as light as others out there but that doesn't bother me and it's good quality for the price.

[Flip Lock] I spent a little more than I was planning on because I've been using my camera equipment for work during COVID and already trashed two (cheap) tripods. I was thrilled to see the quality when I took it out of the box and even happier with the performance. Well worth the money, I wish I bought a Manfrotto years ago!

[Yes] I have had a few other models from different companies and I have found that this tripod will stand the test of time as the others broke within a year or two. I would recommend this product to anyone. It is a bit on the heavy side though.

[Flip Lock] The Manfrotto MK055XPRO3-BHQ2 is sturdy support and easy to use . I use it with the Pro ball head and a gimbal with longer glass. Not lightweight and for my use that kinda the point.

[Flip Lock] 07 14 2018 - Received a Manfrotto MK055XPRO3-BHQ2 Aluminum Tripod with XPRO Ball Head sooner than expected via FedEx (delivered on a Saturday instead of the projected Monday deliver date). First impression was how BEEFY thing is... and it's exactly what I wanted. I'd never seen a ball head in person and have never had a tripod of this quality in my hands before, so this is a big deal for me. I read through all the paperwork, checked nuts and bolts to make sure they were tight, and then opened and closed everything to make sure all was well. Then I started experimenting. I'm totally glazed and amazed at how solid it holds my Canon 77d and Sigma 150-600 C lens. No drift and no creep. This is the first time I've been able to lock onto a subject and have my lens stay exactly where I put it. I was never concerned about having a high-quality tripod/head before anyways because I didn't do much shooting from a tripod. In fact, I normally used a tripod only to hold my camera so my hands would both be free between shots. With this tripod, with the legs extended and the camera mounted, the viewfinder is approximately 4" below my eye level (I'm 6'2"). Sweet. This Manfrotto tripod and ball head look to be a game changer for me.

[3/8"-16 Male] In 1991 i purchased 5 075B Manfrotto Tripods they are still going but a tad heavy
I have now purchased the MK055XPRO3-BHQ2 because:
They are light weight
Easy to use
Perfect height
Ball head sole and easy to use.
Photographer proof
QR plate is a tried and tested design, not a new one
