Mount a Laowa PL-mount probe lens onto your L-mount Super 35/APS-C camera with this Laowa 0.7x Focal Reducer for Probe Lens PL to L Mountfrom Venus Optics. This lens mount adapter widens the angle of view by 0.7x and adds one stop to the aperture. When used on a Super 35 camera, it lends the probe lens a 17mm focal length, and if used on a full-frame sensor, it is approximately the equivalent of 25mm. It is constructed with lightweight but durable aluminum and plastic materials.

A: Yes, the ES 0.7x Reducer should work reasonably well with a 3 inch focuser. There are three options for attaching the reducer to a focuser, a 3 inch adapter and two smaller adapters. The upper left cylinder in the product photo is for a 3 inch focuser. It has a 76mm outside diameter and 74mm ID with female threads. The 3 inch adapter screws on to the bottom (scope side) of the reducer. It appears to be designed to either be inserted into the focuser tube or screwed on, depending on your setup. I use it with a 127mm f/7.5 APO and it covers a full frame (35mm) sensor with sharp stars, but with some vignetting in the corners. Two issues I have with the reducer are 1) the T adpater is standard 42mm, as opposed to 48mm, and so produces more vignetting than is necessary given its 3 inch optics. 2) Given the 55mm T adapter shoulder to sensor plane recommendation, there are no 48mm threads or room for a screw in filter. I just ordered and adapter that will allow for screw in filters on the focuser end of the reducer.Hope this helps.

[1.09 lb] I'm primarily a video producer, but also do a fair amount of commercial photography. This lens offers a unique perspective that other macro lenses just can't deliver. The image quality is fantastic and the 24mm allows for immersive videos and photos allow you to explore the world from the perspective of an ant. The probe lens reaches places other macro lens cannot and the light can be powered by a rechargeable, portable power pack for light in any macro environment. I rented this lens, but just had to buy one to have on multiple upcoming projects.

[Leica L] I have a Explore Scientific 127mm triple refractor which is f/7.5 The 3 field flattern reducer increases my telescope speed by decreasing the f ratio to about a f/5.2 and gives sharp stars to the edge of the field in my photographs. The item works perfectly with my Explore Scientific telescope.

[Aluminum] I saw an article where a guy was taking photos inside an old violin and was enthralled. Must have been cut and paste or magic. Not so - this lens goes through th ehose where base support is and has a light ring installed at the end. I am now trying to figure out other applications. I'll do another review after I've used it some more.
Very well designed and engineered. Need to do focus stacking in post-processing. More to come with photos

[Leica L] A very unique lens with specific applications (Macro shooting). This lens has it all, from 24mm f/14 to illuminated lens tip that can be activated via connection to a usb power supply. As with a lot of macro lenses, this one is great for studio shoots and for photographing subjects that are still. The design provides me with a lot of interesting angles, views, and applications. I didn't post any pictures because there are some great ones online that were taken with this lens, demonstrating the versatility of the probe lens.

[Leica L] I have the removable dew shield ES127ED APO model. I unthreaded the 3 barrel and used the Adapter 1 to thread the flattener/focal reducer directly to the focuser drawtube. I then threaded my SBIG ST2000xm to the front of the FR using the CCD camera adapter t-threads. The star field is tack sharp from edge-to-edge, no aberrations.
