Q: 1. The video I'm getting from this device has really bad banding and low res. I have a cheapo adapter I bought on Amazon and the video resolution is perfect but the audio is very distorted. With this one, it's the opposite. The audio is fine but the video is lousy. I've tried multiple cameras, cables and computers and still come up with the same results. Frustrating because this has a lot of good reviews here. Any ideas?

A: Give us a call at 1-800-606-6969 and one of our sales reps can help troubleshoot the issues for you. A few things to try/consider are... Is this product plugged directly into your computer or into a hub? most products work best when they are connected directly into the computer. What kind of processor does your computer have? This device does not require a high end computer to work but it does help if your computer has better cpu more ram etc Do you have any other programs running at the same time? this is linked to the point i made above about processing power if you are trying to do too many things at the same time that will also decrease performance. What program are you using? This product should work with just about anything but that does not mean you will get the same performance from every software. try using a different program/platform to see if you get similar results. A: Yes it can.

A: The j5create Display Adapter will work with a Windows 7 computer (with a free USB 2.0/3.0 port), and HDMI display (including a television)

A: This adapter will work with Mac and Windows computers.

Q: 7. How Do I use this

A: "Simply plug this adapter in" to an an available USB Type-A port (the rectangular USB port) "to connect your computer to a second monitor or projector within seconds for a new visual environment" but the monitor has to have an HDMI port and you would use a standard HDMI cable.

Q: 8. Will this device work as a video source for recording/capture with Cyberlink Power Director/Video Editor?

A: We are not aware of this product being compatible with Cyberlinks Power Director.

Q: 9. Is this strictly for input to a computer. Can it be used in the opposite direction? For example output from computer to an external monitor?

A: While I can't say for certain, it's very likely not to work. Capture cards use software drivers to interpret and convert the video signal from the input into a USB-camera device, i.e. like a webcam. Most external displays would be looking for a video-signal to display. However, you shouldn't need a capture card since you can just use a HDMI cable from the computer directly to the monitor.

Q: 10. Does this work with the Sony a6400/6600 series?

A: Yes, just make sure you have the proper mini hdmi to full hdmi cable.
