Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this hub support the power draw of 4x USB-C SSDs that each draw .7 - 1 amp, with no external power supplies?

A: If you intend to connect multiple storage drives, a powered hub or dock would be recommended. The Xcellon 4-Port Slim USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C Hub does not provide any additional power to connected devices, so you are limited to the power budget supplied by the single host port.

Q: 2. Can this hub drive two displays (1080p60), each connected over a USB-C to DP cable? There would be a Windows laptop (Dell Precision 5550) on the other side.

A: No, the EZQuest USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C 7-in-1 Hub BH #EZX40027 is not capable of outputting video. This is just for data transfer.

Q: 3. Will this work with a monitor that has thunderbolt 3 input?

A: No, this adapter requires the thunderbolt host connection from the source device to operate.

Q: 4. can this provide power to 2 portable hard drives? along with 2 flash drives or card readers?

A: This hub is not powered at all; all it does is extend the number of USB ports available to you. I use this to bridge the distance between my laptop and a scanner a few feet away. It can handle a couple of basic USB devices at most, but its relay power is not great -- it easily gets overtaxed and read/write/response gets slow.It sounds like with so many devices coming in on your USB ports (all gathered on ONE port on your computer, since you're using a hub) you need more relay power than this hub is going to give you. I would REALLY recommend something like this instead:https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1135887-REG/dell_r6wd9_usb_3_0_triple_display.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1135887-REG/dell_r6wd9_usb_3_0_triple_display.html/aI use one of these as well and it's GREAT. I have multiple drives and two monitors plugged into it, with a single USB cable leading from it to my laptop. Never lags or gets overloaded. It is considerably more money than the simple hub, but because this dock is powered with its own AC adapter, that influx of power lets it work as an independent bus relaying data from all the devices and helps the computer manage them MUCH better. For what you're looking to do, this is probably the best solution. Hope this helps.

Q: 5. Hello. Can I put this usb to TV for watching videos?

A: The Xcellon 4-Port Slim USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 Hub is meant to work with computers and mobile devices, compatibility with a TV cannot be guaranteed and may depend on the specific TV model.

Q: 6. What is the length of the cable?

A: The cable is 7.5 inches.

Q: 7. Will this device work with a USB extension cable? Looking to place it about 6' away from PC, to 2 scanners & pwrd HDD dock.

A: Yes, you can use the Xcellon 4-Port Slim USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A Hub with a USB-A extension cable like the Pearstone USB 3.0 Type A Male to Type A Female Extension Cable - 6', B&H # PEUSB3AA6.

Q: 8. The description says ... "Note: This USB hub supports data transfer only. It will not deliver power to devices." Does this mean it won't work with an external portable USB drive?

A: Correct, this device doesn't have the ability to power larger devices.

Q: 9. What is the length of the product cable?

A: The cable is an estimated 12 inches long

Q: 10. What is the point of the power button?

A: It turns the strip on and off - I use it to take my backup disk drive and printer on or offline. It will trip you up if you forget it.

I got this to enable tethering two cameras into the same computer without switching cables. I often shoot different focal lengths with different cameras into my Mac Book Pro in my studio. This did the trick. One camera is a Canon using Lightroom, the other is a Hasselblad, using Phocus software so there is no conflict. It works great. It even charges the battery in the Hasselblad camera while shooting. Works great!

I'm really glad to see new hubs that have actual USB-C ports on them. A lot of my stuff has USB-C ports, so this makes it easier to plug them all in!

Needed to connect USB devices to laptop. Hub works flawless and fast.

For the price, this thing can't be beat. It works perfectly and, best of all, itt doesn't require ac power like some of these do.

Simple adapter to attach multiple USB-C and USB-A devices. 3 USB-C ports, 1 USB-C PD port, and 3 USB-A 3.0 ports. There are no video ports but I wasn't look for one, I just wanted USB ports.

I miss the days of having enough ports on my computer but since dongles like this are a necessity I've had many over recent years. Main use is for a wired mouse and occasionally to patch in a midi music keyboard or pull data from an older hard drive. For some reason all the others have stopped working over time (one even dangerously overheated!).

This one has worked flawlessly with daily use for the past six months which is all I could ask for from this simple little device. It's traveled and been out in the elements (even gotten a big soggy from rain once) and no issues.

If you need a basic USB hub, this one is the best of the many I've used.

Pros:
1) It works, exactly as advertised.
2) Connected devices show no signs of performance changes.
3) Has a light, that indicates that the hub is connected.
4) Just plug it in and it works.

Cons:
1) The cord is 6 long, and is pig-tailed connected. You cannot replace it with a longer cord (although you could use a USB extension cord).

Neutrals:
1) The casing is plastic.
But if feels strong and will not easily crack or break. I would not step on it. But if should be fine for nearly any use.

2) Only one mechanical type, USB powered, hard drive will function at a time. Those mechanical (spinning disks) drives need more power than a SSD (solid state USB drive). This is not the fault of the hub, as the hub derives its power from your computer's USB port.

If you want to connect multiple, mechanical, USB powered drives to a hub, then you will need a hub that plugs into your electrical outlet.

But if you are plugging in external USB drives that have their own power source (have their own electrical cords to go to your wall outlets), then this hub will work well.

Also, if you are plugging in multiple flash drives, which consume little power, then this hub will work well.

My main gripe is the short cable that is connected to the hub. Otherwise, this is a very good hub.

I really enjoy these because they have a lot of USB=C ports. Most of my devices are USB-C so I need adapters if I'm using a hub with only USB-A ports. The metal body really helps it dissipate heat, and the braided cable looks great and is helpful because the cat does not chew braided cables. I has been working very reliably with both my iPad and Mac Mini M2. Do make note that there are no display outputs on this hub, so if you need that, there is another version with that. Also, not all of the points are 10Gbps, so pay attention to that too if you have some higher speed devices.
