The Grace Design Dante Option Module for m108 Microphone Preamplifier/ADC (Upgrade) enables Dante connectivity for your m108 unit. It provides eight channels of outputs and inputs to other Dante-enabled devices, at sample rates up to 192 kHz, and is ideal for use in live, studio, broadcast, and commercial installation applications. This upgrade is designed for m108 units that are in the field and requires customer installation. New m108 customers can choose a factory-installation option at point of purchase.

This option is powered by the Dante Brooklyn II module, which provides fast synchronization, low-jitter clocking, and ultralow latency. It allows for four unique clock architecture concepts, with the module functioning either as a clock master or clock slave. The Dante Option Module features two Gigabit Ethernet ports for operating the m108 in full redundant mode.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What type of fiber is required?

A: Single Mode Fiber with LC connection.

Q: 2. External DAC drive these like Cambridge, well I still need a headphone amp?

A: If the DAC can handle 300-600 ohm headphones, then you would not need amp amp.

Q: 3. How deep is the unit?

A: W16.75" x D10”

Q: 4. Are these $100 better than the HD600s?

A: I will address some of these questions I see here. Some posters would have you waiting forever for a price drop. I haven't listened to the HD600s. I find the HD650S well worth the money. I find them comfortable to wear and I have a big head. The sound is superior to the HD598s which I do own. The one drawback to the 650's is that the cord is long and bulky. You will also need an adapter to use them on a phone or tablet. This would also apply to the HD600s as well. To me either these headphones are in your price range or they are not. If not look elsewhere for cheaper.

Q: 5. Is there any audio processing that can be done with the unit? For instance, compression?

A: No, the Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini Audio to SDI 12G Converter doesn't provided any audio processing other than gain control.

Q: 6. How is the comfort level for eyeglass wearers?

A: The headphones are very comfortable on their own and can wear them for hours. But I do find them pressing on my plastic frame glasses annoying. You will feel the eyeglass stems pressing against you. If you adjust the headphones on your head if will also adjust your glasses on your nose at the same time. I do without the glasses and just enjoy the music.

Q: 7. Is this HD650 comes with black or silver drivers? There is a sound quality improvements with the silver ones. Thank you very much!

A: All the critical parts I can see on either side are silver/metallic. There is plenty of black plastic in there, too, but it all looks like structural support for the silvery parts. I took off the earcup padding and thin foam cover, but that's as much disassembly as I feel safe doing.

Q: 8. Originally, Sennheiser HD 800S were made in Germany. I heard the new production had moved out of Europe. Where are these made now?

A: The Sennheiser HD 800 S Dynamic Open-Back Stereo Headphones are still made in Germany according to our system.

Q: 9. does it came with xlr cable ?

A: No, the Sennheiser HD 800 S Dynamic Open-Back Stereo Headphones BH #SEHD800SBLK does not come with an XLR cable. In the Box Sennheiser HD 800 S Dynamic Open-Back Stereo Headphones Cable with 1/4" / 6.3mm Connector Cable with Balanced 4.4mm Connector Microfiber Cleaning Cloth USB Flash Drive Limited 2-Year Warranty

Q: 10. What about an Apollo Twin Duo? Can I get the benefit of a mic preamp, or are only the apollo's own presets available to me?

A: This interface offers: 2 Unison Mic Preamps, 1 Hi-Z Input Using the emulations is optional: The interface features two XLR-1/4" mic/line combo inputs and a 1/4" Hi-Z input, all with Unison integration for precise UAD emulations of classic analog preamps—impart vintage character of your choosing on microphone and instrument recordings while bypassing the unpredictable nature of old equipment.

[0.465 lb] I am well pleased with the Grace Design m101 mic preamp. I recorded vocals & guitar using the AKG C3000 through the Grace Design m101 then into my Apogee A/D converters. WOW! The m101 is certainly the most transparent mic preamp, in the price range, that I have heard. The signal to noise ratio on this unit is extremely high. I did a recording in a noisy room, using the microphone close to sound source and the recorded signal had very little ambient noise. Moreover, the signal that I captured through m101 sounded clean and full. It accurately represented the sound source.

[0.465 lb] The Grace 101 is a bargain. For beginner or expert you can't go wrong. Portable enough to take with you and a must in studio. Very easy to use with amazing sound. COZ ((VOICE)

[0.465 lb] I'm using the Grace Design M101 to boost my Sure SM7B mic. It plugs into a UAD Apollo Twin Duo X Thunderbolt which plugs into my MacBook. I do conversation level voice recording for online course creation.

I get more clear gain than I need for my mic, which outputs notoriously low signal.

If you're in the market for an outstanding preamp and are OK with the price, this is an option worth exploring.

[0.465 lb] I use these with MXL 603s's. Now it's time to look into better mics and a sound-insulated room. I tried no mics and got much much less noise, then 100 ohms across the signal pins and got even less noise. Didn't measure the noise; merely listening, with headphones, to the output amplified by a Panasonic HDC-Z10000. I like the idea of the rotary switch, instead of a pot, for the gain control. It has a pot for the trim control, so it has the best of both worlds. Construction is very good with high-quality connectors and controls. It's pretty cool to have a five-year transferable warranty.

[0.465 lb] All of the equipment and software I have purchased I never woke up to learning how much difference a pre-amp at this level makes. Instruments: Bass guitar, lead guitar, acoustic guitar - it is amazing the fullness it pulls out of these instruments, and that is fullness with headroom. A great addition for voiceovers. Now on the microphones: tested on our condenser mics (Schoeps and AT 4053b) and our Dynamic (Beyerdynamic, Shure) mics. It is hard to put into words the differences. Present system: ProTools, Focusrite Saffire 56, ArtPro Channel pre's, Presonus pre's. This is a game changer investment. Spend it here before you drop the extra $ on the mic.

[0.465 lb] this is the best preamp value on the market that ive found.....used a avalon in a friends studio, and owned a ua la-610 in my own studio....both of these preamps are 1500 dollars or more, and are not as clean and crisp sounding as the grace designs preamp....and where other preamps take a degree to figure out how they work, and take a LONG TIME to get set to prefrence, this little gem is SIMPLE and very EASY to fine tune....for under seven hundred dollars, this is a professional preamp needed to make the leap from home studio to professional turnkey studio, and buy it from BHPHOTO, they are the best
