The VocoPro UHF-18 is a wireless handheld microphone system offering a simple, budget-friendly solution for speech and vocal reproduction in houses of worship, special events, and business applications such as live performances, karaoke, parties, and presentations.

The UHF-18 comes with a 1-channel receiver and a wireless handheld microphone; the components operate in the UHF band for a wireless line-of-site operating distance ranging from 100 to 150'. The handheld mic is well suited for vocalists, DJs, public speakers, and hosts. The receiver's volume control and unbalanced 1/4" output allow easy level adjustments and proper hookup to the input of a PA speaker or a professional mixing console. A power supply for the receiver is included, while the microphone runs on AA batteries. The receiver also offers an expansion port that allows it to be used as a plug-in wireless mic system with the HERO-RV, CHAMPION-RV, DVD-SOUNDMAN, and SOUNDMAN systems from VocoPro.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do the lavs require phantom power or does the bias voltage from the battery powered body packs suffice?

A: This wireless system uses 2xAA batteries to power the transmitters while the receiver is power by the power supply that it's provided in the box with it, so there's no need for phantom power.

Q: 2. The description says rackmount, but the picture does not show rackmount brackets. Does this package include rackmount brackets?

A: Yes, the VocoPro DIGITAL-34-AI 4-Channel Digital Wireless Handheld/Headset Microphone System with Bags and Accessories (900 MHz) comes with a 4-channel rackmount receiver and rackmount brackets.

Q: 3. Can you get lav cardioid transmitters with tie clips & handheld units?

A: At this time, we do not have a current cardioid lav option compatible with this Nady system.

Q: 4. I have 2 sure wireless mics now and I am looking for 4 more will they hook up to a peavey 20 sound board with four different channels ?

A: If I am understanding your question, the UDH-CHOIR-4 Hybrid system should work well with your Shure mics, and will easily connect to four separate channels of your Peavey PV-20, either via XLR or 1/4 cables. The VocoPro system operates on the 900Mhz band, and I am not aware of any Shure mics operating in this frequency range. I am using these units in conjunction with several Audio-Technica units I have. All units work well together. Hope this helps!

Q: 5. Am I understand this correctly? I can use the microphone with the headphones plugged into the receiver and hear what I am saying or does it have to go through something else?

A: The system includes a wireless microphone (which is the transmitter) and two separate receivers. One receiver sends the mic's output signal to connect an audio mixer, amplifier or recorder. A second receiver sends the mic's signal to the headphones. This setup allows you to monitor the audio from the mic without the need for a separate in-ear monitor system. So you will be able to hear the sound from mic through the headphones without the need for any additional gear.

Q: 6. what is the range of the microphone and the receiver (i.e. in metres)?

A: Depending on the environment, the system can operate within a distance of up to 100 feet (30.5 meters) line of sight.

Q: 7. Does the 1/4 mic out jack provide a mixed mono output for both channels on the receiver?

A: The 1/4" connector on the VocoPro UHF-28-9 Dual-Channel UHF Wireless Handheld Microphone System (9M: 915.0/9N: 918.7 MHz) is an unbalanced line output, which indicates the signal from both microphones is summed up to mono.

Q: 8. Does this mic have a timeout? I use it in a stand and often go to use it and find it powered off. Why?

A: The transmitter would turn itself off after a period of time, if it loses connection to the USB receiver. Be sure that they are paired.

Q: 9. I bought this and received it but I must have misunderstood do all three Items have to be used at the same time? If not I am unable to understand how to connect the microphone to just the headphones receiver?

A: No, all three items (handheld microphone transmitter, wireless plug-in receiver with built-in 1/4" jack, and wireless headphone receiver with headphones) do not need to be used at the same time. If you just want to hear yourself through headphones, you can use the handheld microphone transmitter with the wireless headphone receiver as a monitoring system. The plug-in receiver with the built-in 1/4" jack is only needed if you want to connect the mic to a sound system (audio mixer or amplifier for performance or to connect it to an audio recorder). Essentially, this SingAndHear-Solo provides two wireless systems in one package -- one system for performance (to hear the mic coming through a sound system) and a separate monitoring system for headphones. You can use the mic with just one of the receivers. Make sure the internal batteries for the transmitter and receiver are charged so they can work properly.

Q: 10. I have Behringer 500W PPA system. The system has 2 XLR inputs and 1 1/4 input. I need to use 5-6 Mics at a time on few occasions, I have 2 XLR cables and microphones. I am not sure if I have to connect both units that come with this system to be able to use all 4 mics?

A: This system is essentially two dual-channel receivers. The XLR outputs are for each of the channels. so you would need 4 xlr cables. The 1/4" outputs are the two channels combined. So, if you are short on inputs on your mixer, use the 1/4" outs, but you will have to adjust each individual mic volume on the receivers. If you have 4 mic inputs open on your board, use 4 xlr cables (one for each channel), and you will be able to adjust each mic's volume independently on your mixer.

[Off/On Switch] I almost never write reviews, but this lav kit deserves one. I'm a commercial/ecomm/biz dp that does a ton of direct to camera stuff with clients and talent. I wanted a more lightweight option for location shoots, or if a client decided on set that they want two people on camera. This is a really nice solution there.

As a guy that literally wears out gear, durability is something I look for right off the bat. These bodies are full aluminum and come in a really nice Pelican-like case. I've used this setup on 4 very different shoots the past couple weeks, with absolutely zero dropouts or weirdness of any kind. Inside, outside, and even in a super congested outdoor location. Not one drop.

There's options out there with internal batteries...in a professional environment those are not as good as models like this that take replaceable batteries. If you're on set and one goes dead, I'd rather have the option of popping in fresh batts - as opposed to plugging it into a battery brick or charger for a few hours.

Anyways, I've used a handful of other lav systems and felt very lukewarm about them.
This set has every feature I was looking for, yet simple enough to pick up and be rolling in minutes the first time. Really a great bargain for a two transmitter kit. Highly recommend!

[Non-Diversity] Crystal clear mics with a great amount of rang to boot.

Plus i've done two mobile gigs with them already and haven't encountered a single drop.

This system is a must buy and a steal for the performance.

[Handheld] Bought this for Thanksgiving in my church. All 4 mics works flawlessly and the production is like high end mics. The greatest advantage is that it's 2 separate system in one and can be use independently. Highly recommended

[1x Handheld] These work just fine. Have used them in Manhattan for PA use in panel discussions and the like with no problems. This is notable because of all the RF in the air here. I now have 5 of these units, including 4 lavaliers and 1 handheld. They have all worked fine right out of the box. I have not used them at their full maximum spec. range of 300ft, but 75ft has been no problem, even through one wall. Some have commented that their construction seems flimsy, but in my experience they are built well enough, especially considering their performance at a fraction of the price of other brands. And I have seen several wedding bands that use them exclusively. The fact that these are frequency agile is a big plus, as you can mix mikes and base units within their band (units are fixed to either C or D band in the US), and choose from 16 channels per band. Biggest complaint, by far, is that the foam windscreen is easy to lose, so maybe get some extras - they can be found cheaply enough - or find a way to fix the windscreen to the mike. BTW the replacement plug-in mikes are quite inexpensive, and I've used these quite successfully to replace mikes on Shure SLX body packs.

[915 MHz ] I do a fair amount of video shoots. Last year I produced 70 videos, but I will admit that I have only been doing video work part time for a few years before going gangbusters last year, so keep that in mind. With that being said, I have used products from various manufacturers like Sony, Rhode, Sennheiser, etc. and the sound out of these has been great and the price was right. I usually use my boom mic for sets but when I need to get client testimonials I use this set along with a single light and I have never had a problem. The video game is expensive. Over the last few years I have spent around $40k but these were a great find.

[Off/On Switch] Does exactly what I need, awesome that there is a carry bag, extra mics, a snake, and batteries included. Best deal for the price.
