Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. thinking of using this with a black magic pocket cinema camera. my question is will the camera be able to auto-focus and auto-iris with this lens?

A: That lens is for the original 4/3rds system and not the micro 4/3rds system. It will not fit on the Black Magic Cinema Camera.

Q: 2. Why "Feet"?

A: This lens has markings in Feet rather than meters. We do not have this same model available with Metric Markings at this time. So that we may best assist you finding the proper product for your needs feel free to email us directly at askbh@bhphotovideo.com.

Q: 3. Is the aperture de-clickable?

A: Yes. The Voigtlander APO-LANTHAR 35mm f/2 Aspherical Lens for Sony E has their Selective Aperture Control System which allows the manual aperture ring to be de-clicked for smooth, silent exposure adjustment to suit filmmaking applications.

Q: 4. Is it auto-iris?

A: The above would depend on your usage and the definition of auto-iris, which usually refers to video usage. The aperture inside the camera is electronically controlled by the camera, but as with most cameras, for photographic usage, the aperture is held wide open to allow the most amount of light into the camera for focusing purposes, and then stops down the aperture during exposure. In AUTO mode in most cameras that use this lens, the camera would automatically choose the correct aperture for the scene, but would still keep the aperture fully open for focusing purposes, stopping down only the instant before exposure. However, if you are using the LCD screen or electronic viewfinder to preview the image and you have the camera set to Exposure Simulation, the aperture and LCD would work to show you the correct exposure before the shot, unlike the previously mentioned usage. Also, if shooting video and the camera is automatically controlling the aperture, then the camera would work similar to the auto-iris mode found in video cameras. The answer to your question would depend on the camera you are using and if you are shooting stills or video (as well as if you are using the optical viewfinder or LCD/electronic viewfinder).

Q: 5. will this lens fit my olympus e410?

A: The Olympus 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Zuiko ED Zoom Lens is compatible with the Olympus E410.

Q: 6. Is this all metal construction lens?

A: Yes, the Voigtlander APO-LANTHAR 35mm f/2.0 is an all metal lens.

Q: 7. will this lens mount on a Leica Digilux 3 camera

A: As the Leica DIGILUX 3 DSLR camera uses the standard Four Thirds lens mount, it would be fully compatible with the Olympus 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Zuiko ED Zoom Lens, which is designed for use on cameras with Four Thirds lens mounts.

Q: 8. I have an Olympus OM-D E-M10, is this compatible?

A: Only with a compatible 4/3 to MFT lens adapter and with one caveat - unless your camera has phase detect autofocus, you will only be able use in manual focus mode. As far as I know, the OMD EM-1 is the only OMD model that supports phase detect autofocus. Two lens adapters are available from Olympus the MMF-2 and MMF-3. I believe the only difference is that the MMF-3 is weather sealed. For the EM-10, the cheaper MMF-2 is probably the more suitable choice since this body is not weather sealed. This lens however is weather sealed. I have used this lens with the EM-1 and prior to Olympus offering their Pro series zooms. Image quality is good, but autofocus speed is not stellar. The Pro series 40-150mm f2.8 may be a better choice and will provide similar reach when paired with Olympus' compatible teleconverter - with autofocus. More money, yes, but you will be much happier with a combo that was designed for MFT. Another lens to consider is the new, but slower, Panasonic/Leica 100-400.

Q: 9. What is the best enlarger lens to print 35mm negatives on a Beseler 4x5 enlarger?

A: A 50mm Schneider or Rodenstock lens would be most useful.

Q: 10. Does this lens block the Leica M9-P viewfinder?

A: Being that this is a newer item, there have not been any reports of blocking the viewfinder on a Leica M9-P specifically.

[f/2] I have a vintage Nikon 500mm mirror lens that was missing the original cap; it's a weird size, 88mm; gave this a try. With a layer of fabric tape on the inside rim or the cap it fits fine.

[f/2] This is what you need for your 4K full frame work. Professional look, quality and amazing, natural picture. It render better than reality!

[TFL] Works well so far. If you have a tight fitting case it can get caught and get pulled off, but that's true of any push-on cap. Seems a bit expensive, but it was the only option they had.

[Manual Focus] This is the best EF Cine wide-angle lens that I have seen to date. And the color rendition matches perfectly with the other Xenon FF Lenses that we use.

[f/22] this lens is great, I use it with my FS7, FS700, A7S and A7sII, the lens cover perfectly the Full Frame sensor and give me a little more narrowed image in Super35mm, color rendition is amazing and have no breathing at all, very happy with it for 4K and more

[Manual Focus] I am thrilled and excited to work with this new lens, I went into the store to buy another lens but when I experienced the high quality of this lens I bought it on the spot and have not regretted it. It is sharp, fast, and brilliantly crafted. Years ago I used to use a Leica camera and I had the same kind of thrill with the lens, it is worth the money to get such excellence.

[f/2] Finding a 92mm push-on lens cap is hard, with very few suppliers world-wide.
This one was brand new with a great price from B&H and very speedy dispatch and delivery to me in England.
Thank you!
