Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will a 4x4 filter cover this lens in full frame?

A: bonjour,ouiDaniel

Q: 2. These lenses look like a 1:1 rip off of the dulens apo primes

A: While similar on the outside to the Dulens APO Mini Primes, the Schneider ISCO4all T2.4 3-Lens Kit with 1.5x Anamorphic Adapter (EF Mount) Kit is crafted by Schneider in Germany.

Q: 3. Why are these Rokinon lenses costing almost 10x as much as the Canon mount versions?

A: That is a fair question. The difference between consumer and pro level cine style lenses comes down to functionality on set. In order that the exacting work of movie making be as efficient, reliable, and consistent as possible, there need to be certain design parameters. 1. Excellent resolution, color and contrast image quality that all lenses in the line match. This is so you can cut between them in editing and not waste time making sure each lens seamlessly has the same look.2. A big barrel is needed by the 1st Camera Assistant for precise focus control.3. A common size front diameter is desired so the matte box fits all of the lenses quickly, without fiddling with adapters. The placement of the gears on the lens must be in the same place so less time is used on set adjusting follow focus devices and remote motors for focus and iris. Finally, similar weight lenses mean less time balancing MoVI, Steadicam and other stabilizing devices.4. The DS line has 8 iris blades which is good for bokeh. The Xeen line has 11 blades which is better. All of these parameters cost money. As you go in the filmmaking world, you will see the benefits they provide.

Q: 4. I see that you listed an outside diameter of 110mm. What is the inside diameter?

A: The diameter listed is for the outside diameter of the lens barrel it fits so it's referencing the inside of the cap less a small amount for a friction fit.

Q: 5. Will this work on an Olympus C-210 teleconverter?

A: As the Olympus C-210 teleconverter has been discontinued and is no longer available, and I see no specifications listed for the unit online, I would simply have to recommend to measure the outer diameter of the teleconverter in millimeters (or convert your available measurement into millimeters). If the outer diameter measures between 56-58mm, then it should fit. If not, you would have to find the size that is equal or slightly larger than your outer diameter measurement.

Q: 6. is it weather sealed?

A: Rokinon does not list this lens as having any weather sealing.

Q: 7. does this cover 8k resolution?

A: Rokinon Xeen 24mm T1.5 Lens for Canon EF Mount have sensor coverage of up to full frame. Please review the chart below to see if your sensor size is supported. We also suggest the Rokinon Xeen CF models which do support 8k sensor sizes. Q: 8. What are the physical dimensions and weight of the lens including the E-mount adapter that ships with the lens? Are there any pictures of the lens with the E-mount adapter? I have read reviews that indicated there are QA issues with this lens IE: multiple reviewers noted improperly aligned elements leading to focus problems at infinity and having to return one or more bad copies before getting a good one - have you experienced many returns for that issue? Thanks!

A: The dimensions on the lens are approximately 3.27 x 4.86 (83 x 123.5 mm).Personally I have not seen many returns and we do not have any photos with the lens and the E mount. The lens that is sharper is by Sony but is not 24mm but 28mm. And it is not as fast. The Rokinon is f/1.4 and the Sony is f/2.

Q: 9. Hi guys, I was wondering if the canon 6D will let you know if the image is in focus when you look through the viewfinder. I'm not quite sure how to explain this but when I use a canon lens in manual focus, the camera flashes one of the 11 focus points in the view finder red to tell me that particular point is in focus. As the Rokinon is only manual focus I was wondering if any of the focus points on the screen will indicate something is in focus. Please let me know if you understand the question or need further explanations. Thanks,Jassi

A: The feature you are referring to is called Focus Confirmation . Unfortunately this particular lens does not have a focus confirm chip built inside it to communicate the confirmation of focus to the camera. Further there are not any lenses in this specific focal length that are manual focus only which do have it. Other focals with the focus confirm chip are available.

Q: 10. How much purple fringing is there with this lens (at each aperture)?

A: I'm sorry to say we are not aware of any testing done with that lens which would go in to such specific details regarding the look at every aperture.

[Manual Focus] Wish it was a little cheaper, but it's what I need

[f/2] I'm actually using this as a cap for my Nikon microscope eyepiece tube. Some older Nikon microscopes use this size, and this fits perfectly. I use these for many of my camera lenses as well, and it fits very well. They fit snugly, but not so snugly you can't get it off when you need to. These have to be one of my favorite caps.

[24mm] Finding a 92mm push-on lens cap is hard, with very few suppliers world-wide.
This one was brand new with a great price from B&H and very speedy dispatch and delivery to me in England.
Thank you!

[f/2] The generic lens cap fits well on my old lenses. It is rugged and does not fall off.

[TFL] I have a vintage Nikon 500mm mirror lens that was missing the original cap; it's a weird size, 88mm; gave this a try. With a layer of fabric tape on the inside rim or the cap it fits fine.

[f/2] These covers are super versatile. I use them on scopes that don't have caps designed for them. They fit excellently and stay on until removed.

[1.3"] this lens is great, I use it with my FS7, FS700, A7S and A7sII, the lens cover perfectly the Full Frame sensor and give me a little more narrowed image in Super35mm, color rendition is amazing and have no breathing at all, very happy with it for 4K and more
