As part of the Contemporary line within Sigma's Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve a balance between convenience and performance, and meshes a compact, lightweight build and versatile handling with notable optical attributes.

Telephoto zoom is designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount cameras, however can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 240-960mm equivalent focal length range.

One F Low Dispersion (FLD) and three Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements are featured in the optical design and help to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and color accuracy.

A Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to lens elements in order to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to producing contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions.

Integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), along with a rear focus system, realizes quick and quiet autofocus, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM also permits full-time manual focus control simply by rotating the focus ring at any time.

Optical Stabilizer system minimizes the appearance of camera shake to benefit making sharper imagery when shooting handheld.

Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.

Dust- and splash-resistant design suits this lens's use in inclement weather conditions and a water- and oil-repellent coating has also been applied to the front element to aid in cleaning.

Constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations. Additionally, a brass bayonet affords improved mounting accuracy and rigidity.

Zoom lock switch can be activated at any focal length to prevent accidental and unwanted zoom adjustment.

Compatible with optional Sigma TC-1401 1.4x and TC-2001 2x teleconverters.

A removable, rotating tripod collar offers well-balanced support for photographing atop a tripod or monopod with either vertical or horizontal shooting orientations.

This lens is compatible with the optional Sigma USB Dock for fine-tuning different lens characteristics and updating its firmware.

[Autofocus] Starting bird and animal photography and this lens was a reasonable price point starting place. So far I am very pleased with the results. Tried handholding and that lasted about 30 minutes. Bought a Wimberley WH-200 and problem solved. Back in business. Once I had the gimbal setup correctly subject acquisition was quick and easy. Very happy with the results and really happy that I bought the gimbal!

[150 to 600mm] I have only used it once but the few photos I have gotten are amazing! I am very satisfied with this lens. It is a bit heavy for hand holding but put it on tripod with a gimbal head or a mono-pod and you're good to go!

I am loving the extra reach at 600mm which I needed very much. I would strongly recommend this lens to anyone needing extra reach and quality images at a great price.

[150 to 600mm] So far I'm very impressed with this lens. Shooting with a Canon R5 and it's giving me very nice colors and contrast. Animal eye autofocus seems to work just as good as the RF 100-500 I rented and it focuses quickly. Only 1 pound heavier than the RF 100-500 but $2,000 less, min aperture is brighter, has an extra 100mm of reach, and a Canon EF-RF adapter was included. Sweet!

[1:4.9] If you enjoy outdoor/wildlife photography this is a must have. Admittedly I am a amateur, but this lens makes me feel like a pro. Took some time getting used to it and highly recommend shooting from a tripod. I am loving everything about this purchase.

[Full-Frame] I purchased this lens to have a lens with longer reach than my Canon EF 100-400L is capable of. I have not been disappointed. The photos are sharp and the lens is a joy to use. Well built and feels like a more expensive lens than it is. Along with it being well built comes some extra weight, however, the weight is manageable and very easy to hand hold to photograph birds in flight. I highly recommend this lens and B&H gave me a great deal on it as always. I also highly recommend B&H, I have been a loyal customer for a lot of years.

[Autofocus] I have had this lens about a week, but so far am very happy with it. I took it out to shoot birds, and got a filter to shoot the sun, getting ready for the eclipse in April. I have a Canon 1DX MK III, and I was also using the Canon 1.4x ll extender. It integrated with it seamlessly. Focus is fast and accurate, colors are beautiful and I got a lot of very sharp images. Yes it is a beast, used a monopod most of the time, but able to do handheld for short periods without too much muscle fatigue. Takes a little getting used to rotating the zoom ring the opposite direction than what I was used to, but that's no problem. The build quality is rock solid. Looking forward to getting out there and shooting a lot more with this lens.

[Yes] This lens produces amazingly sharp images once it has been properly calibrated to your camera body, using the Sigma dock and customization software which does not come with the lens. This process is very time consuming and requires a methodical approach to set the lens up for 16 different focal length/distance combinations, but the end result is worth it. In addition to reading the calibration instructions that come with the dock and software, I suggest reading several on-line write ups that will give you good perspectives on how to set up your calibration protocol. Lens features that I really like: the zoom lock switch that prevents lens focal length creep when carrying the lens, two detent positions that let you feel when your camera has been rotated into either the portrait or landscape orientation, the ability to zoom by either rotating or sliding the lens barrel - which ever works best for you, a very solid build quality for all parts of the lens including the aluminum lens hood, a very nice and substantial carrying case. The only negative I have come up with so far is the weight of the lens - about 7 pounds, which necessitates a tripod or monopod for truly sharp images at longer focal lengths and reasonable ISO settings. If you use an Arca Swiss tripod head, you will need to buy an adapter for the lens foot that comes with the lens. I should mention that this is my second Sigma 150-600mm Sport Lens. The first one I bought second hand and was not able to calibrate it correctly. I returned the first lens and bought this one new from B&H and I am very happy with it.

[95 mm (Front)] I had done a lot of research and had talked to other photographers and two of my go to photo stores (B&H was one). I might not have been comparing apples to apples the Canon100-400 plus extender vs Sigma 150-600mm but from all I heard and saw the price was right. The only thing you really need to consider is the weight of this lens, you will need a tripod/gimbal (or nice ball head).

My pictures are from my first outing with this lens and both have been cropped down as the Eagle was probably 75-100 yards and the Coyote easily 200-250 yards away. The sky as you can tell was cloudy but provided a nice back drop.

[9, Rounded] Just want to say that the photo I added in my review of this lens looks MUCH better on my pc and even on Facebook than it does on B&H's site. Looks like B&H is doing their own processing and discarding pixels to save on space or whatever. I was very disappointed to see how the image attached to my review looks. I haven't found any guidelines from B&H on how to get the best image quality when posting to their site. For Facebook I downsize to a long edge of 2,048 pixels at 90% jpeg quality and add low screen sharpening. They look fine on Facebook.

[95 mm (Front)] I have used the Sigma 150-600 mm Sport Lens on my Canon 90D a few times in the last two weeks and am impressed with the range and detail of the photos. I am at the beginners stage and am looking forward to leaning more on how to get the most out of the this lens! So far so good!
