[0.57 lb] One of my favorite lights. Easily hide it. Great for RGB accents. I actually made a set of barndoors using some rigid felt and armature wire that are actually useful since it has a narrow width. One downside is the push button that turns on and off tends to get hit if you lay the light on a flat surface facing up. I solved this by gluing a piece of foam the height of the power switch on the back of the handle. This solves the problem and allows the light to lay flat. I prefer the npf battery powered one to the built in one simply because a light of this form factor is most useful when it doesn't need to be plugged in. With a built-in battery I would only get a few hours of use and then have to have it plugged into continue to use. WIth this one I just swap out an npf battery and I can use the light all day outlet free. And no, it doesn't come with a battery or power cord. It states this in the in the box section, and I won't downgrade them for it due to the price point. I compared the daylight output of this to a similar genaray and this is brighter.

[500] I bought a pair of these 5 x 6.75 well made LED panels . The two sets of LEDs (3200K & 5600K) are individually controlled so either can be turned fully on to fully off. The dimming controls have two buttons coarse and fine; coarse works in increments of 10 (20, 30, 40, etc.), fine is in increments of 1 (7,8,9, etc.). There is a memory button for storing one setting by long pressing, both color temperature and intensity are stored; a short press will reset the light to the stored setting. There is a side slot in front of the LEDs and behind the permanently attached barndoors for use with the included white diffuser or CTO diffuser.

My reason for getting this set of lights is for Low Level Lighting in astro-photography. the lowest setting may be a bit brighter than ideal, I'll have to field test to know for sure, but the barndoors and diffuser should help control the light output.

[500] I use the lights ( i went back next day and bought a second one) to illuminate my paintings at wedding events. I love the dial to set the right amount of light on the canvas as I paint. I plan to use these lights as a nocturnal lighting system outdoors as well.

[5 VDC] This magic arm fits beautifully on to the Explorer central column free tripod. With the help of another gadget, a double-ended plastic clamp, I can position a small umbrella over the camera and lens and shoot safely in the rain. Thank you Explorer Photo & Video for this clever design. (hover over photos to see captions)
