Designed for use with Overloud's REmatrix, the first multilayer convolution reverb plug-in, two programmable banks can be loaded and layered with 300 presets or individual IRs generated from venerated devices such as the EMT 140 and 250 plates, as well as several Accutronics spring reverb units, for an extended tonal palette and truly unprecedented sonic spaces.

The reverb IRs have been enriched with modulation, creating a warm and lush atmosphere while retaining a classic, vintage vibe, and each preset has been created during real mix sessions, with particular emphasis on vocals, keyboards, synths, drums, and acoustic instruments. Q: 1. Is there an alternative compatible C-CLAMP I can use with this boom arm that will clamp a 3 inch desktop?

A: Unfortunately, I don't know of any wider clamp that will be compatible with this BAI-2X arm. I would recommend using the included screws to mount permanently to the desk, rather than using the clamp.

Q: 2. The metal rod keeps spinning the mic down when I try to adjust hte positioning of the mic. No matter how tight I make it, it still easily moves. Please help... What do I do?

A: Try some Lock Tight on the threads.

Q: 3. Is the threaded microphone mount male or female?

A: The Auray BAI-2U Two-Section Broadcast Arm with Internal Springs and Integrated USB Cable has a standard 5/8"-27 male threaded mounting point to attach a microphone.

Q: 4. Will this plate block wireless charging?

A: No, this plate may interfere or completely block wireless charging, depending on the strength and numeration of the charging device. Some devices have multiple charging cores to boost strength.

Q: 5. I notice the Auray BAI-2N mic boom arm does not include any type of cable. I checked online & the instruction manual that comes with the arm does not say how to add an XLR cable. Does anyone know what is the protocol to add a cable to the Auray BAI-2N?

A: The cable for the Auray BAI-2N mic boom arm XLR is draped over the joints of the arm. Have a look at the photos on our website and you will see how. B&H # AUBAI2N

Q: 6. Is there a way to buy another clamp for this arm?

A: Yes the replacement C-clamp is in the link bellow https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1056201-REG/auray_bac_1_universal_interchangeable_combo.html/accessories

Q: 7. Does this have straps for cable management? I want to strap my Shure X2U to the arm, it makes it easily accessible while keeping it out of the way.

A: Not included. These will work fine: Pearstone 0.5 x 6 Touch Fastener Straps (Black, 10-Pack)B&H # PES050610B

Q: 8. If the USB cable should stop working, can it be removed?

A: The cable is installed during fabrication and can't be removed or replaced. If you happen to experience an issue with the integrated cable for some reason, we would encourage you to contact us at info@gradusgroup.com or 212-594-2120 within the 1 year warranty term to arrange warranty service.

Q: 9. I'm looking for a broadcast arm that supports the RE20. Does this broadcast arm do that and are there any others?

A: I have been using this arm with my RE20 and RE27 mics (and a few others) for about 8 months now. It works very well. It's smooth and sturdy. I also have a Heil PL2T that works great, comparable to the Auray. The Heil has the advantage of having a topless surface, which means the top of the top arm is open. If you take the plastic insert out, you can run your mic cable in there and put the insert back in place for a cleaner look. The Auray has the advantage of coming with the extension if you need more height, while for the Heil it is a separate accessory. I also like that the Auray comes with a base/insert that keep the bottom of the arm out from the wall an inch or so (assuming you have the arm mounted at the back of your desk against a wall like I do) to avoid scuffing the paint off the wall. You can also purchase the Auray base (BAC-1) alone, so I purchased an extra one and put the Heil arm in it, with a little bit of modification. (The Auray arm does not fit into the Heil base) I tried the Rode PSA1 arm also. It seemed good with the RE20/RE27, but if you have a lighter mic on it, or no mic, the upper arm stands up as opposed to staying in the position you place it in. The Auray and Heil stay put and seem more solid to me. The Rode has a few inches less reach also. In my opinion the Auray or Heil are both excellent choices for the RE20 or just about any other mic, depending on your needs.

Q: 10. is the arm 40" with out the 14" extention?

A: Yes, the BAI-2N broadcast arm itself is 40" without the 14" riser.

[Download] These rigs sound amazing! Lots of different impulses and captures to match most scenarios. The addition of direct rigs for use with even more impulse responses is a huge bonus.

[Yes] This arm comes with a table clamp mount that can be converted to permanent installation via supplied wood screws. This allows installation on almost any table or desk. The overall construction is sturdy and will support most any microphone suitable for broadcast use--I have used both a Shure SM7B and a Neumann TLM-104 on it with no problem. It can be moved with virtually no noise--the internal springs are silent. There is an internal cable option for those who want it. (I prefer being able to change out the cable quickly.) I have not found the riser useful, but I am sure there are situations where it would be. Overall, this is as good or better than any other spring arm I have used, and the price is right.

[Download] I was deciding between this arm and the Rode PSA, but in the end there were several consistent complaints about the Rode that made me steer to the Auray. After having the BAI-2N for about a month, I'm extremely happy with the purchase. The arm seems very sturdy and has had no trouble at all supporting the various mics I've hung from it, including the Rode PodMic, which any review will tell you is a real chunky boi of a mic. The desk clamp is also stiffer than I was expecting, and the arm is well tensioned so that it takes some effort to reposition and stays in place well once you've got it set. I have noticed absolutely no noise from the springs, which is great as I have friends with much cheaper arms that will accidentally slap their mic or arm and I can hear the springs vibrating over our VOIP call.
The only issue is that there's a tiny bit of play in the base that lets the arm pitch back and forth a small bit, but it's pretty negligible and once you add the weight of a mic and cable to the arm, it becomes hard to notice unless you're looking for it.

[Yes] I searched and read about many brands. Paid attention to customer reviews etc. The ones I had narrowed down to still had some neg feedback. Then, somehow, I came across this one. Read all the reviews and even watched a youtube so I decided to go for it. It's great. No issues. It supports the RE20 with the sus mount very well. Love the riser. You don't have to use the riser if you don't need it but I'm using it. You can clamp or drill holes and screw it in place with the supplied screws. If you are scratching your head comparing others (like I did) stop scratching and buy this one.

[Download] The extension allows this to be mounted behind a computer monitor and still have the mic placed wherever it needs to be. This has good load capacity and still easily adjustable.

[Download] After reading reviews of other brands on other sites. I landed B&H as my new go to headquarters for the gear needed for my home studio. As quality of Auray BAI-2N is what I was searching for. They shipped next day to my door. I hooked boom up to my desk mounted my Heil mic and I am live on air. Simple to assemble and mounts solid. Great product and better company to do business than any Ebay or Amazon seller. I am a B&H satisfied customer thank you....Brian from Connecticut.

[Download] I've seen some reviews, both here and elsewhere, complaining about how stiff this arm is, and how it requires some force to get the arm to adjust its position. Those reviews are accurate, but to me that is absolutely an advantage, not a drawback, and is something I was looking for in an arm.

Because of its stiffness, I only had to adjust its position once, and now it's always in the right place. The hinge at the base (where the arm slots in) can still spin around, so I can swing the arm away when I'm not using it, and swing it back when I am. But the height and angle always remain perfect, which is really nice and lets me get very consistent audio every time.

So for me this arm is great, and I'm very happy with my setup. However, if your setup requires effortlessly moving the arm itself around (not just spinning around the base), then this is probably not the arm for you.

Some other misc thoughts:
- The build quality feels really solid. I haven't had it for very long, but it feels like it will last forever.
- Because of its stiffness, I suspect this arm will work great with pretty much any weight of microphone, both heavy and light.
- I don't need or use the riser bar, so I can't comment on that. I wish I could have ordered the arm without the riser, because it feels wasteful if I'm not going to use it anyway.

[Yes] For voiceover work, I have the base of the arm attached to the back of my desk (without the optional riser), extending above one of my monitors. The arm is easy to position, and it stays firmly in place (no sagging). It is great.

[Download] Very sturdy, firm hold, stable mounting, that is what you want in a microphone arm and this does just that.
