The Blue iStarUSA 5.25" to 3.5" Trayless Hot-Swap Cagefrom iStarUSA 5.25" to 3.5" Trayless Hot-Swap Cageis the third generation tray-less hot-swap hard drive cage. It supports the current transfer rate technology of 6.0 Gb/s (SATA I/II/III and SAS I/II) and is RAID ready. The hard drive cage also comes with an ultra-quiet cooling fan and adjustable fan speed control. The LED display lights feature a blue light to show drive activity. Heat dissipation is enhanced by a full aluminum construction and a 3.1"(80mm) fan. The metal key locks help secure your hard drives and prevent unauthorized access. Converting three standard 5.25" (133.3mm) drive bays into 5 usable hard drive slots, it is economically designed to maximize your investment.

[Yes] Definitely impressed with the quality of this. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect Sharkfin for a while now and this one is checking all the boxes. I like that it sits a bit further back than the AB ones and I like the read out. It’s perfect for those front heavy cameras giving you just that extra bit of weight off the back, every inch counts when you’re trying to balance for handheld. Been using it just a couple days with the Amira and I really love it. I wish it would have shipped a bit quicker but maybe they solved that issue by now. Also have to mention the amazing customer service I received, every question was answered insanely quick and they were really great to work with. Happy with my purchase. 5

[Aluminum] Works great - the bottom PTAP port isn't wired, but that is a known thing with this model. It isn't really a problem as my wooden camera backplate for my camera has another port as well and this one has a working Ptap port on the top as well. 5

[Yes] bought the old version of this and it was great for my 9mm HDDs. however after i while i moved onto 7mm SSDs which were not supported by the mechanism. told startech about my problem and they simply replaced my old model for the newer product free of charge. first class service. A+++++ 5

[2x 15-Pin SATA] I've been using these hot swap drive bays for many years, we've sold hundreds of them with all the PC's we build. They have gotten better as time went by, but the best improvement was made recently. Startech added clip retainer slots for the SATA cables. Now when we connect the SATA cables the clips "click" and stay securely in place. Before this improvement we had to perform a number of techniques to hold the cables in place. This was always the weak link in our systems. Way to go Startech, you are definitely listening and improving your products! 5

[3x 5.25"] this plate is really well made, the AB batts mount nice and snug, the p tap port is very useful. For alexa minis and reds, that are tend to be lightweight rigs, two batteries on the back gives the camera a better balance, especially on handheld and steadicam. Obviously, the hot swap function is a must. 5
