A: The SMX-30 will put out the identical signal on the tip and ring when it's in mono mode so that you can feed the same signal to left and right inputs of your camcorder. I have a Canon camcorder with XLR inputs, and what I use is a cable made by Hosa with a 3.5mm mini plug on one end and a pair of male XLR connectors on the other end.
