Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. So this adapter can work on my Canon 6D Mark II?

A: Yes it will. This will allow you to mount Olympus OM Lens to Canon EOS Camera like the 6D Mark II.

Q: 2. Does the aperture priority mode actually work, and is there a difference of focus like on a DSLR if you use a lens it’ll appear in focus but when you take the picture it won’t be because of the different distance to the sensor

A: Aperture priority works but no other function, as there aren't any electric contacts for any other communication. The images should appear in focus before and after a photo is taken. Front or back focus issues does not occur when using mirror-less cameras.

Q: 3. Does the autofocus point light up or does the camera beep when the Leica M lens comes into "focus" manually?

A: There is no focus indicator light or sound using this adapter.

Q: 4. What is the internal diameter of the threaded end?

A: The internal diameter of the Fotodiox T-mount to RF adapter's threaded end measures 41.62mm / 1.63" with our vernier calipers.

Q: 5. Does this fit a Celestron Nexstar 8SE?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Lens Adapter Astro Edition for T-Mount Telescopes to Canon RF will fit onto a Celestron's NexStar 8SE or any telescope with a T mount adapter. For the Celestron's NexStar 8SE you’ll need to purchase Celestron T-Mount Adapter for Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes B&H # CETAC5 MFR # 93633-A as well.

Q: 6. May this adaptor accepts Contax G 21 mm without the need of cutting the roots of the lens itself?

A: Hi, you can use the Contax 21mm lens with this adapter mounted on a Canon RF mount camera without any alteration of the lens.

Q: 7. What is the blue ring for?

A: The blue ring allows you to adjust the aperture in the lens from wide open to closed down.

Q: 8. Does this mount the PK lens at the correct orientation?(i.e. aperture number pointing upwards) Or does it mount them at an angle, like the PK-EF adapters would do to try and clear the mirror on those cameras?

A: According to Fotodiox, they stat that yes, the FotodioX Pentax K Lens to Canon RF-Mount Camera Pro Lens Adapter does hold the lens in the correct orientation (unlike the PK-EF lens adapter).

Q: 9. Why is the blue aperture ring even necessary when you can adjust the aperture directly on the FD lens?

A: Some FD lenses do not have a manual aperture ring you can turn on the lens with your hand. For those lenses you would use the blue aperture ring in the adapter.

Q: 10. I have recently inherited an original olympus pen f 35mm film camera with three lenses. The 35mm f1.8, telephoto zoom 100-200mm f5 and the 20mm f3.5. I have a lumix camera and was wondering if this is what i would need to adapt the lenses to a lumix?

A: Yes this is the correct adapter for your application.

[Metal] Our old Canon AE-1 Program's lenses are now useable on the new Canon EOS R5 camera. The adapter fits snugly on the lens as well as the camera. I am only an amateur photographer but highly recommend this adapter.

[Canon RF] I had a trio of old Canon FD lenses (breech lock) around for years, collecting dust. I decided to make use of them again with my Canon R5 body. This adapter works perfectly once you figure it out, as there are no instructions with it.

The blue ring rotates to allow you to attach the lens to the adapter, then you rotate it to the left (as seen from the back of a Canon camera) to actuate the movement of the aperture blades. Then you focus and meter for the exposure.

About the Arca-style foot: I found this to be awkward when hand-holding the camera. In the comments someone asked if this can be removed, and Fotodiox says it cannot. If found that it can be removed using the proper hex wrench. The foot very securely attached to the adapter, so it took a bit of force to get the bold loose.

On the camera, I found it easiest to use Manual mode, with the ISO setting set to Auto. Also, I had to get into the camera menus and set Release shutter w/o lens to ON or the R5 would refuse to take a photo.

I also have a couple old Nikon lenses around. I may get the Nikon version of this adapter to use those, too!

If you have an old lens you'd like to use with your newer camera, get this adapter. You'll love it.

[Metal] I've been using this adapter with my 50mm 1.2L FD lens and the images look flawless on my Canon EOS R

[Metal] Waiting for my back ordered RF lens has allowed me to use this on my R6 and several fd lenses from 24 to 800mm. I have developed some attachment to my old stock lenses and this adapter used with an R6 is a real joy to experience. The lack of glass is a real bonus in image quality. I mounted a fd 800 5.6L to test IBIS, the IBIS does help, I would guess about 2 stops, the lens really magnifies every bump or movement. I shot some good video footage with the combination and setting the stabilization to on during viewing was quite helpful.
I mounted several other lens as well, I was happy with all setups.
Would not hesitate to buy this adapter again. Fits each mount in a snug and secure manner, good product.

[Canon RF] I tried another T mount adapter and it wouldn't even attach to my Canon R5. B&H took it back and I replaced it with the FotodioX model. it is extremely well made and mounts tightly to the camera body with no 'wiggle'. Very happy
