Until now, the most effective options have generally involved using bass traps that are specifically designed, or customized to fit the room. However, these solutions can often be expensive and invariably involve complex measuring procedures. There's also little scope for flexibility if changes are made to the listening space, such as moving furniture or gear.

The Vari Bass Ultra is designed for use in any professional recording space, home studio, or hi-fi room. Made from MDF with high-pressure laminate, it includes high-density acoustic foam in the interior and is covered with grey fabric. The bass trap can be tuned between 50 to 100 Hz by simply moving its top up or down (which has a series of resonant pots) until the problem disappears. A scale is included to show the exact frequencies on which the Vari Bass Ultra is acting. The unit's standalone structure enables it to be repositioned as required and used in different rooms.

A: I use it with my Epson but can't see any reason it would not work with your Canon. It's a good general purpose paper. It's thick -- but not so thick as to jam up your printer.

A: No, it cannot. The Epson Ultra Premium Presentation Matte Inkjet Paper is not double-sided paper; it only has the matte printing surface on one side of the paper.

I had the opportunity to hear these in action at the AES show in NYC in October of 2017. Three units were located in each of three corners of the room. The door was in the fourth corner and this prevented the use of four units. An IR remote control was available to turn the absorbers on and off. With the system off, we played several low-frequency tones and walked around the room observing nodes and anti-nodes. We then switched the system on and the room response was much more consistent. Bass could now be heard where there had been nodes, and it was no longer overpowering where there had been anti-nodes. We could now walk around the room and hear a much more even bass response. After this we played a kick drum track. With the system off, the kick had a boom sound as it decayed. With the system on, the kick drum was a distinct and well damped thump. The difference was stunning. When listening to music, the absorbers smoothed out the bass response, eliminating annoying room-resonance induced peaks and dips in the response. Very impressed. It would take large volumes of passive absorption material to match the performance of these active devices. 5

We are using this subwoofer with the Bose Ultra Smart soundbar. Pairing the subwoofer through bluetooth was all but effortless. The Bose Base Module 500 offers a very clear and articulate base for a moderately large living room without being over powering or annoying neighbors in a Manhattan brownstone. 5

This type of case offers the best of both a hard case and a soft bag. It conforms snuggly to the shape of a Kala Baritone Uke or a U--Bass. It provides almost all of the protection of a hard case, but weighs very little more than a bag. It also has a rear-mounted strap for carrying it over your shoulder. There is a small, covered, internal accessory box under the instruments neck location, and a generous zippered accessory pouch on the front of the case. This case will provide excellent protection for an instrument as long as isn't crushed by a considerable weight. Scrapes, scratches, hard bumps, and even drops from shoulder height will do no damage to the instrument inside, and no functional damage to the case itself. Have no doubts, this is real protection for you Kala Baritone or U--Bass. 5
