Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How many amps does this light draw?

A: The amperage for the power controller on the Godox Knowled M600D would be 15 amps.

Q: 2. Is the 15,700 lumens @ 3m with or without the reflector? I'm trying to understand why the output of this light is claimed to be about 3x more than the output of similar lights like the Aputure LS 600X Pro (as compared in the spec sheet).

A: The Godox Knowled M600D Daylight LED Light is 15,700 Lux at 9.8'. Lumens is not rated in distance.

Q: 3. How does one compare light output between the 300 watt knowledge and a 300 watt arri hotlight. Lumen aren't mentioned in specs

A: With both lights at 3200° K and placed at a distance of 3.3 ft (1m) from the subject, the Godox Knowled M300Bi with its reflector will produce 118,000 lux while the Arri 300 Plus Fresnel would produce 4500 lux while in flood position.

Q: 4. This unit is advertised as having a "flash" mode. What does that mean. Also at the advertised specs of 15,700 lumens at 9.8 feet, what exposure would that give you on 100 ISO rated digital sensor?

A: The item is still very new and we have not had a chance to perform in house test on it yet as we have not received it. But please feel free to contact the manufacture directly for detailed info Technical & After-service Support: servicesupport@godox.com servicesupport2@godox.com

Q: 5. Are there Grids for this? Can this work on the MG1200bi ?

A: There is not a grid for the Godox Parabolic Softbox for KNOWLED MG1200Bi Bi-Color LED Light (59") BH #GOGP5.

Q: 6. What about banding effects because of the PWM control of LEDs, with Sony cameras? Does this have a true Flash mode with F/stops increments?

A: Being that the Godox M200D Knowled Daylight LED Light is a new release, there have been no reports of banding effects when using this light along with specific cameras such as those from Sony. The flash mode would be considered a special effect, so it will not allow for true f-stop increments as found on a traditional flash/strobe.

Q: 7. Is this light powered by a standard USA wall outlet?

A: Yes, the Godox Knowled M600D Daylight LED Light may be powered by a standard USA household wall outlet.

A: No, the Godox KNOWLED MG1200Bi Bi-Color LED Monolight does not have Green/Magenta shift control.

Q: 10. is the out put limited while using the V mount battery?

A: As long as the V-mount batteries meet or exceed the 330 watt draw, the output would not be limited on the Godox Knowled M300BI.

[8.015 lb] This light is a game changer for me. It opens up a lot of possibilities. Very solid construction, no complaints after three shoots.

[8.015 lb] I'm extremely impressed with this light for the money. It does everything the more expensive Aperture 300X can do. I personally like the ballast design on the Knowled better because it can be rested on the ground or mounted to a stand, also the menu interface is better in my opinion. It connects to the app without any hassle and has the added benefit of a couple pre-programmed lighting FX (lightning, candle light, fire, TV etc). My only complaint is that the v mount adapter that connects the ballast to a stand has a little bit of play, does not effect how the light functions and it's still very secure. Great light overall.

[8.015 lb] Like staring into the sun! Build quality is superb with the light housing and surprisingly compact when compared to their VL300. Better quality twist lock cabling with a very robust power supply. Outstanding value!

[8.015 lb] Great ergonomics, beautiful white light, simple controls on the power-pack and the Godox Light App.

Suitcase is good quality, but my wife is the only one who can repack the kit.

Extremely quiet fans.

Very happy that 600 watts is now more affordable.

Here's a tip: If you have modifiers with other mounts and you plan to convert them for COB lights with Bowens mounts, make sure to choose LOW PROFILE adapters. They are shorter by almost an inch, and they allow the COB to reach in to the modifier and spread light. Standard Bowens adapter rings will create a bit of a tunnel effect, preventing the light from spreading properly, and also in some cases casting shadows from rods within certain softboxes.

One more tip: The Godox Fresnel 10 is very heavy and doesn't produce great barndoor cuts. I went instead with the Nanlite Fresnel 20G, and it is holding up fine to the 600 watts while producing lovely results.

Enjoy!

[8.015 lb] Love the Knowled line. Super color accurate, really powerful and the app is really versatile, easy to use, and responsive. Strong yoke, easy connections, weather resistant. I used it in the rain for 6 hours the first day I received it and it kept up fine.

[8.015 lb] I like the light, it does a great job. I don't know over time if it would shift color (green / magenta) beside that, it get the job done
