[Nylon] Works with Arri SkyPanel S30-C with the yoke removed. In its place, I use Arri's Fixed Center Mount Yoke and wrap the ballast in a PortaBrace Pouch and store it with the light in the case's main compartment. Smaller, lighter and far less expensive than anything else I've found. Great, well-made case too!

[40°] This case is a perfect compliment to my Luxli Timpani’s. I had a case that was more expensive than this made for 1x1’s and it fell apart like many others because of thin and cheap liners and outside pads. This case has the thickest padding I’ve seen. It’s so well padded but still light. I also get my Luxli cellos in there and it’s just a good quality product like the rest of the Luxli brand. Keep up the great work!

[0.745 lb] I love working with flat panel lights, but sometimes you need to control the light spill better and have a more focused' light source. This grid works perfect for helping to control the light more. I love my Luxli Timpani2 light and with this grid, I love it even more. This is a fantastic accessory/addition to an already great light. This grid mounts very easily with elastic straps and Velcro straps and holds in place very well. You can literally put it on and take it off in seconds. And when finished, it then comes off easily and folds up neatly to fit in a provided case. I absolutely love that. Having a case keeps it nice and safe when not in use and should help the grid last a longer time reducing wear and tear. The specs say it has a 40 Grid angle which works well for me. The build quality of this grid is fantastic. It is made with quality materials. There is a reflective silver material on the inside of the 4 outer walls of the grid, which helps focus the light to the center and help maintain the intensity of the light which is a nice feature. This is a great accessory to the Timpani2 light and I'm very happy with the quality and effectiveness of this grid. [40°] Let me start with the barn door spring tension design they develop for the LUXLI Timpani 2. It fits the Timpani so elegantly and effectively. To remove is even faster and it doesn't leave marks on the light's body. Very impressed. The construction is all metal and the barn door can be tightened in the future if you use it a lot. The way it came, no adjustment was necessary. The barn doors stay where you leave them.

The barn doors do the job for what a barn doors set of this size does.
But if you need to block even more light spill, a company named Angler makes a softbox for the Timpani 2 and also make the grid for it sold separately if you are also interested. BH #ANLEDSBG1818. I have both, the softbox and grid and they fit absolutely perfect.

[40°] This is a fantastic diffuser. Helps create a nice soft light that spreads very evenly. I love my Timpani2 light. It is nice and bright, so this heavy diffuser is a great compliment to the light and creates a very flattering soft light. I have the light diffuser and the medium diffuser too, so this heavy diffuser completes the set and gives my an incredible amount of control. Which is what I want and like. In Lee filter/gel terms, I would compare this to roughly a 216 diffusion. But the best part about this panel, is you do not need to bother with cutting your roll of diffusion and use clothes pins to attach to the barndoors. This panel diffuser is made of made of polycarbonate that is attached to the light by supplied screws (which come with the light itself). It is very easy to install and stays on securely. So, there are no issues with wind, sound of a gel rustling, no light leak or any of those kind of annoyances. I love that. This diffusion panel is also well made so it should last a long, long time. I almost always use some form of diffusion for my lights and this heavy diffuser has become my favorite choice for beauty shots. [40°] Before they made this grid, I was using an Angler 1x2 Collapsible Softbox for My Timpany 2 which also fits perfectly. Search for BH #ANLEDSB1818.

Now I have two ways to employ the use of grids with my Timpani 2. The first one, being the Angler soft box with an OPTIONAL Grid, allowing me to control light spill, yet with soft light provided by both, the Timpani 2's diffuser and further more with the Angler soft box.

And now with the LUXLI standalone Grid I'm reviewing today, I can control light spill without any additional diffusion. I can even lift the Timpani's diffuser for even more light output and harshness if needed for background accents etc.

The grid's fabric is nice and thick, about 1.5mm and stay in shape.

The entire assembly fits like a glove and as you dress up the Timpani, the elastics on the back feel very sturdy and shapes around the panel very snugly.

Even though there are Velcros to further secure the grid to the Timpani, I almost find that they are not even necessary, but I do use them of course.

Bottom line:

-It does what it's suppose to do. LIGHT CONTROL, Indispensable to ANY light panel. It's a must have.

-Stays in place and the grid once installed is aesthetically pleasing as well.

Folds very compact and it comes with a light duty carrying pouch to protect it from the elements and dust.
