Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this adapter electronically close the aperture of Mamiya 645 AF lenses? I.e. for the newer lenses without an aperture ring- If I shoot with my Schneider 150 LS at F/16, will the sony body close the lens to F/16, or can I only shoot it wide open?

A: You would need this version for a 645AF lens: https://bhpho.to/3xc5L1J This adapter does not support electronic communication between an attached camera and lens. To control the amount of light that enters a Sony E-mount camera when using this adapter and a Mamiya 645 AF/AFD lens, an aperture-control ring is built into the adapter which couples with the lens's aperture mechanism so that adjustments to brightness as well as depth-of-field can be made.

Q: 2. will this work with canon 5d mark 3? And will this work with Mamiya 645 AF lenses?

A: I use it to attach my Mamiya 645 lenses to my Canon 6D, the baby-brother of the 5DM3, and it works fine. It's not as perfect as having it hooked up to your Mamiya, but it never will be. But you will unlock the greatness of a medium-frame format lens onto a full-frame 35mm equal and the results are like nothing you can get from a Canon lens. I'm not saying superior, but in many ways, they're up there with the traditional L lenses, and if you bought the Mamiya lenses used, you probably didn't spend the L prices. Good luck.

Q: 3. Hi, does it work with m645 mount Phase One/Schneider lens? Thanks

A: The following unit accommodate a camera mount FUJIFILM G lens mount to mamiya 645 camera body.

Q: 4. Can you attach this adapter to a tripod?

A: The KIPON Mamiya 645 Lens to Nikon Z Mount Camera Adapter does not have a tripod mount.

Q: 5. Does this adaptor enable autofocus of the Mamiya lens (as long as the lens has autofocus capabilities of course) ?

A: No, the KIPON Baveyes Lens Mount Adapter for Mamiya 645-Mount Lens to Canon RF-Mount Camera is purely a manual adapter. There is no communication between the lens and the camera with this adapter. All aperture and focus control would need to be done manually on the lens.

Q: 6. Hi, with what kind of RED cameras series is it compatible with ? First EPIC and Scarlet mysterium X Series ?

A: the mount is configured for RED DSMC 2 series/style cameras

Q: 7. Will this adapter allow for autofocus on the Mamiya lenses? Will it work with the leaf shutter if the mamiya has a leaf shutter?

A: The KIPON Baveyes Focal Reducer Mamiya 645-XD 0.8x does not support auto focus or any other electronic communication between the camera and the lens. Only the camera shutter will function, not the leaf shutter in the lens.

Q: 8. Will this maintain the flange distance for RX C Mount lenses?

A: When using the Kipon C-Mount Lens to Canon RF-Mount adapter, lenses with a proper back focus control are recommended for achieving proper focusing. Some older lenses may be incompatible as their back element may protrude too close to the sensor.

Q: 9. How is this Mark "II" version different from the original version (other than being more expensive)?

A: The updated Mark II version has better optics and coatings than the original. It has better color rendering and sharpness than the original.

Q: 10. What is the effective mm of the lens when converted to the L mount?

A: The, KIPON Lens Mount Adapter for Mamiya 645-Mount Lens to Leica L-Mount Camera does not change the focal length of the lens. It does not have optics to change that. The crop is that the lens is for a 645 size frame and that to full frame camera is about 1.6 times crop.

[Aluminum] Feels great on my Sony FX cameras. I have been shooting on my FX9 and FX6 a lot with the Mamiya lenses and this mount feels extra sturdy. The full frame image quality is great. This is my first Kipon product so I wasn't sure what to expect. Very nice.

[1/4"-20 Female] I used the adapter/reducer on the Sony A7R3 (42 MP) with the 105-210 ULD zoom lens. The combination is a perfect match. Pictures have an amazing amount of detail in the center and the corners. No CA, lovely colors and a bit less contrast compared to modern 35 mm lenses which I personally like. Likewise the reducer works very well with the 24 mm fisheye. Amazingly sharp and crisp pictures at f11 and f16 except for the corners which show a low amount of softness (which is to be expected for such an extreme wide angle lens). There is a low amount of CA in high contrast situations. Lightroom had no problems to deal with it.

All in all I am very pleased with the performance for my landscape photography. I would recommend this adapter to a friend.

[Canon RF] Strong materials used for tight fitting mounts as one should expect for the price.
