Flic Film Elektra 100 35mm Roll Film 36 Exposuresis re-spooled Kodak Aerocolor IV color negative film, originally designed for aerial photography and reconnaissance. A fine-grained, medium-speed film with excellent acuity and true color rendition, Elektra 100 exhibits a wide exposure latitude and natural color reproduction in daylight conditions. A T-Grain emulsion is employed to achieve enhanced sharpness and resolution that make this film ideal for high-resolution scanning, and its design also provides 30nm-longer red sensitivity than previous aerial films for increased haze penetration and foliage reproduction, as well as increased green saturation and lower D-min values for fast printing times. It should be noted that in this version, the film has a tendency to let light travel up the leader and into the first three frames. Load in low light conditions.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this DX coded? (I'm want to use it in a point-and-shoot).

A: No, the Flic Film Vision3 250D Cine Film (35mm Roll Film) does not have the DX encoding. However, you can still use this film on a point and shoot film camera.

Q: 2. what type of camera can be used for this film?

A: Its 35mm film. Its for 35mm cameras.

Q: 3. is it fresh film?

A: B&H Photo's policy on film is that all film sold will have an expiration date at least 6 months after the delivery date.

Q: 4. How many exposures does this film roll have available to be shot?

A: The Flic Film Vision3 200T Cine Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) contains 36 exposures.

Q: 5. is there a reciprocity factor with this film due to long exposures?

A: I haven't noticed anything significant out to 30 seconds. I use it a lot for city night photography where exposures are around 4-16 seconds with great results. I'm not doing anything too technical though.

Q: 6. Does the film in this particular listing have its ramjet removed?

A: When it comes to the Flic Film Vision3 500T Cine Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures), it will have a ramjet layer on the film that will need to be removed with ECN-2 prebath chemical.

Q: 7. Does this have the anti-halation remjet layer on it?

A: Yes, Flic Film Vision3 250D Cine Film has the Remjet anti-halation backing.

Q: 8. Anyone can provide image samples for this or any Rollei film. Where does BH order this from since all are considered Special Order?

A: This film comes from Rollei-Germany. I would recommend contacting Rollei for sample images. RolleiTel: +49 (531)87700910 Website http://www.rollei.com/ Email info@rollei.com

Q: 9. which is the expiration date?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 10. is there a bulk discount of 50 or more?

A: No there is not. Our film has been discounted to the lowest possible price we can offer regardless of the quantity being ordered.

[0.05 lb] At first glance, I thought it was a wasted roll, but after some color corrections in Lightroom, the warm tones were there while still highlighting the natural colors that modern slide film highlights. I will definitely shoot with it again to see if I can fine tune the exposure a bit.

[1] As others have noted, this is Ektachrome 5294 movie film, spooled in to cassettes, for 35mm still cameras. It has great color, and saturation, as well pleasing skin tones. Like its sold by Kodak Alaris counterpart, it is a great all around film. I use it for all occasions, both in the studio, and outdoors. Since it is a movie film, it doesn't have frame numbers along the edges; not a big deal, just something to note.

[1] I bought this film kinda on a whim after really liking Flic Film Elektra and how they handled their packaging. I needed something for varied lighting that wasn't CIneStill 800t as I didn't want the hallation, and I gotta admit I find Portra 800 just a little boring (though reliable to keep around)

Its still not known at this time where Aurora 800 comes from, as opposed to some others from Flic Film, but I gotta say I kinda love it. This whole roll was shot pushed to 1600, and everything came out beautifully. There was so much latitude in it that I could do some edits to pull back exposure and the grain becomes so nice, without losing any of the character of the image or the shadows. I haven't shot it at box speeds yet, but the way 1600 still captures such great color, as well as detail in light, shadow, and midtones I really am sure box speed will be great too.

Until we finally get someone making 1600 speed film again, I think Aurora will be my go to for color at 1600. CineStill 800t will also still get some rotation for that, but I feel that will be much more situational for me.

[1] Great colors, especially in studio work. I develop and scan myself and find it easy to work with as it's super flat and has a clear base.

[ESTAR] I've always wanted to try Kodak Double-X. Picked up a few rolls when this went on sale and was not disappointed. My new favorite film.

[ESTAR] Nice way to add some variety and mix up what you shoot. For the price its worth buying a few rolls and seeing what you get. Lots of contrast and nice fine grain.
