The blue iStarUSA Trayless Hot-Swap Cage for SAS/SATAfrom iStarUSA Trayless Hot-Swap Cage for SAS/SATAsupports transfer rate technology of 6.0 Gb/s (SATA I/II/III and SAS I/II) and is RAID capable. It comes with adjustable fan speed, ultra-quiet cooling fans and multi-function LED Indicator. Heat dissipation is enhanced by the full aluminum construction and a 2.75" (70mm) fan.

The hot-swap cage features a SATA power connector, which increases compatibility with most power supplies. The metal key locks help secure the hard drives and prevent unauthorized access. To maximize your investment two standard 5.25" drive bays are converted into three 3.5"usable hard drive slots.

As one battery becomes depleted, you can remove it and swap it for a charged battery without having to power down your camera. The plate also incorporates an unregulated D-Tap output that delivers 11 to 17 VDC to power accessories.

A: The Core SWX Micro Hot-Swap Dual V-Mount Battery Plate is designed to hot swap with batteries, and does not have another power input to provide power to the camera if both batteries are removed from the plate. Since the batteries aren’t ‘stacked’ on one another, you can easily remove the depleted battery while leaving the other battery connected so that there is no down time.

[Aluminum] My Super Micro has only 4@ 3.5" internal drives but the SEAX11 system board supports 8 SATA ports. This drive cage gives me devices for the other 4 ports. � I now have two BIOS selectable boot systems each in RAID-1 configuration. No data is stored on this storage, just the boot configuration which is quite small compared to today's 2.5" drive capacities. 5

[3x 3.5"] fits 3 drives into the space of two CD drives, great space saver, nice hot swap, sturdy built, fast delivery. Simple to use, great for throw a drive in backup video data/system take it out and secure deposit it off site. easy to install, good capacity. 5

[15 mm] Pleasantly surprised at the snugness of the fit when attaching to the primary A/B battery plate. Absolutely no play once seated. In fact you have to give it a bit of a bump with the heal of your hand to get it to engage. Consider this a feature. One edge of the back plate curls around 90 degrees and is setup to accept a BEC plate if you so choose. The unit aside from providing hotswap functionality allows you to create a decent counterweight with batteries rather than dead weight which is useful to both the ENG or Steadicam Operator. Like many things relating to camera rigs, the pricing is stratospheric but the utility is so good that it is worth the cost in the end. This is one of those bits. 5

[1x 70 mm] Is working great in my HP Z820, was able to use 4 SSD in RAID 0 and it is blasing fast! Almost 1GB/s. Plastic feel a bit week but since it sit in place, should not cause any issue. 5

[2x 5.25"] I've been using these hot swap drive bays for many years, we've sold hundreds of them with all the PC's we build. They have gotten better as time went by, but the best improvement was made recently. Startech added clip retainer slots for the SATA cables. Now when we connect the SATA cables the clips "click" and stay securely in place. Before this improvement we had to perform a number of techniques to hold the cables in place. This was always the weak link in our systems. Way to go Startech, you are definitely listening and improving your products! 5

[3x 3.5"] This is a wonderful case for building a mini-itx server. Love the fact that it doesn't use trays. Just slide the bare drive in and your ready to go. Very high quality. 5

[3x 7-Pin SATA] I bought this because I am transitioning from spinning disks to 2 1/2 inch SSDs and when this arrived I was impressed by how well it was made, its ease of installation and the fact that for 4 SSDs I only needed 1 power cord thus reducing some of the clutter of cables inside my case by 3. The fan has 3 settings, automatic, low and high and is attached to the rear of the unit and really quiet. Good price for a great little unit. 5

[Aluminum] Absolutely love this case. I have a couple of other mini i-itx servers and this case is by far the best. Greatest feature is that it's trayless so just a matter of popping in a bare hard drive without messing with carriers. Very high quality. 5
