Q: 1. Okay, I'm 99% sure I'll be buying this product, and that I'll be purchasing it from your Company. That one percent is an important reservation because it's the only reason I need a product like this.I'm a musician - most of the time I get the chords and lyrics for free online copy/paste them into my 'LibreOffice' program edit them to suit my purposes, and then I can view the songs on my big screen Samsung TV. There are however, some songs that require my playing the melody (the individual notes) of the songs and for that I need to see the notes themselves as well as the chords and lyrics.I have the sheet music for these songs, and was hoping I could just scan, and input them into my 'LibreOffice' word processor program and then I could have them appear on my giant Samsung screen just like I do the other songs. It would be nice if I could edit them as well, but not a deal breaker as long as I can get them into my song data base of my laptop them be able to view them on the screen of my TV.My question is: Do you know whether or not I could do this with the Canon PT215?As this is the 'only' reason I could use this product I hope the answer is yes.Thank you.Elvin

A: This scanner does not come with editing software. In order to do this, you'll need to import the file into Word or some other word processing editing program, like LibreOffice. There should not be any compatibility issue with file output formats.

Q: 4. I have a ROLLEIFLEX 3.5, will this scan the film that the camera uses? I believe it’s 120.

A: The Kodak Slide-N-Scan Film and Slide Scanner can't scan 120 films. We have these two scanners that can scan 120 films from Rolleiflex 3.5. https://bhpho.to/3SJkLjT

Q: 5. Wondering about level of JPG compression. File resolution is stated at 22MP (interpolated 4200 dpi) or 14MP (direct 3200 dpi), but what are the actual jpg file sizes (in Mb)?

A: Unfortunately the level of compression is not specified for this scanner. File sizes will vary based on what is scanned. 22MP scans will typically be around 7MB. 14MP scans will typically be around 4MB.

Q: 6. I'm going to assume vertical slides must be inserted horizontally. Is there a button to rotate the viewer (or HDMI display)?

[Black] I used my Pana-Vue for digitizing several hundred 35mm slides and

one strip-of-4 print negatives. My conclusions are:

-Ultra-simple to use.
-Very well constructed.
-All needed accessories except SD card are included: cables, film & slide holders, cleaning brush, AC adapter, user's manual, etc.

-Excellent viewing screen.
-Versatile. View digitized film on computer, TV or the scanner itself (it's really a camera.)
-1 to 2 seconds per photo, JPG file output, approx 3 meg, digitize 10 per minute comfortably.
-Use any computer OS or no computer at all (I use Linux.)

Please keep in mind the price. For less than $200 it's an astonishing
piece of equipment and excellent for digitizing old memories. No
matter what you digitize the image will be degraded some. The better the slide or print film that you start with, the better your digitized image will look. Grainy, blurry, faded, old 110 print film never looked good originally, so you might be disappointed when a
digitized image is blown up on a computer or TV screen. That doesn't mean your memories won't be perfect.

Enjoy!

[Black] I needed to scan some old 35mm slides for a presentation. I did not expect much but this system worked perfectly out of the box. Strongly recommend it.

[Black] I just got this and scanned many slides from my childhood and before I was born. Slides are handled well, just very simply...you push them in with your finger and then use the next slide to push them out. When done, lean the unit over and grab the last slide. I saved to an SFDC card and then copied to my IMAC. Power is from the USB of my IMAC. Some people were complaining that the resolution is not very high. The resolution is great, and all the colors are captured as Kodachrome was known for. The slides are handled in such a way that they cannot be scratched. Display is bright. Unit is sturdy Really enjoy this product.

[Black] This replaced the older model that quit saving photos and had to be retired. The much improved and larger screen is very nice. The editing worked better than expected. The controls on top are comfortable and intuitive. The manual is too thick and awkward with super small print in multiple languages. The downloaded PDF version with zoom function is infinitely better, saved on the bookmark bar.

[Black] The directional effect is cool and mildly mind-blowing. It's a great way to demonstrate beamforming. If the directional aspect doesn't matter to you, then look elsewhere to get better sound cheaper.

The Bluetooth connection works, but don't bother looking for a connection button on the device. It is always discoverable.

[Black] I don't understand the negative reviewers. This scanner works great, it's pretty much automatic as far as focusing and all that, and the resulting images look great. I can scan a whole batch of old slides fairly fast in an evening. I like that I can save the images to an SD card and then move that to my desktop computer. I also like that I can power it with the supplied USBC cable. Granted, I don't have any other slide scanners to compare it to, but this one works great for me and I'm glad I bought it from B & H.
