A favorite of fashion and portrait shooters, the 28" FotodioX Pro Beauty Dish with Norman Series 900 Speed Ringbounces the light off a centrally positioned deflector and is directed to fill the white reflector's interior. The result is a signature soft look with an edge of crispness (ideal for hair and makeup) you can't get from umbrellas and softboxes.

The reflector's white interior renders a soft, neutral quality of light. For those who want a softer look, a diffusion sock is included. An added bonus is the natural-looking catchlights that appear in the subject's eyes. Optional accessories include a honeycomb grid to tunnel and direct the light output.

[Metal] I was using this speed ring on a Paul Buff octa diffuser. Had to grind about 1/8 around the outside ring to make it fit. This was not a surprise though .. I did know it going into the purchase. 5

[Metal] The Bowen’s speed ring is included with the soft box and you don’t have to go through the hassle of connecting the rods into the speed ring, which is very convinient. 5 feet might not seem like much but when it’s a softbox and you’re lighting your subject, it makes a tremendous difference. It has great soft/smooth light. Just beware of the wind if you’re using this outside, will definetly tip over easily if there’s no assistant or weights on your light stand, and you wouldn’t want to ruin your strobe(s). 5

[1" Beauty Dish] Easy open umbrella style. Quality materials, nice carrying case. Have a Buff one, approximately the same size, modified to fit on a normal light and it is not as well made, in my opinion. Very pleased with the light this thing puts out, especially now that it has a grid. 5

[White] The unit arrived in perfect condition (no dents, no blemishes) center plate is dead center, suspension springs are tensioned a bit on the loose side, but should be fine as long as care is taken when handling. Suggestion: For solid diffusers at this size, it would be nice if there were an integrated handle. I may add a cabinet handle on the very edge as it can be unwieldy. All in all, great unit. Test shots were consistent with beauty dish expectations. 5

[Metal] I used this per photography forum recommendations to use as part of a DIY project to mount the Speedotron Beauty Dish to my Genesis strobe lights. This adapter is made of higher quality metal that doesn't bend when pressure is applied, thus drilling the 4 mounting holes was a breeze. I also bought this adapter to use to secure the diffuser sock on my Photek Softlighter II to my strobes, since the stock Genesis reflector is too big, and the Elinchrom Wide Angle Reflector costs $50. Great alternative! 5
