A: Yes, the PodTrak P8 does offer noise reduction for each input which can be turned on or off. When multiple mics are being used to record sound, the noise reduction function of the P8 suppresses background noise to a constant level by automatically reducing the levels of the mic inputs not being used. To activate this feature, tap "ON AIR" on the Home Screen, then tap the "ON/OFF" button to turn noise reduction on or off. There are no other settings to adjust for noise reduction.

A: When implementing the Mix-Minus functionality of the Zoom PodTrak P8 Portable Multitrack Podcast Recorder with a laptop, the connection between the P8 and laptop should be made over USB for proper functionality. The 1/8" connection on the P8 is dedicated for use with smartphones in a similar manner.
