[400 ppi] My Shimbol on-camera monitor is brand new, so I’m still testing it. The cast aluminum build is really solid and feels like pro gear, surprising in this price range. The touch screen is responsive and the image is great, with many adjustment options. Also runs fine off my camera battery’s 12v tap. Monitor arrived in a “cute” case with a loop-strap, a solid shoe mount, two HDMI cables, a plastic screen protector, a polishing cloth and a manual. No power connector, though.
We’ll see how long before the shine wears off. But my first impression is thumbs-up.

[LCD] Great, affordable monitor! If you don't need internal recording, this is the monitor. Build quality is top notch and the 1200 nit brightness lets you see in direct sunlight.

[16:9] I've only had the opportunity to use this monitor on a few shoots so far but here is what I have to say about it so far -

There is little to no learning curve to using it, especially if you've ever used an external monitor. I came from a non touchscreen monitor, so the touchscreen feels 10x more intuitive to me than my old one was.

The picture looks really good. I know some people complain about it having the 4K buzz word in the title and only being 1080p, but for a screen this size, 1080 is really sharp.

The mounting arm is good and sturdy, I use pretty large batteries with this monitor and the mount has no problem holding up the weight. The small micro HDMI to full size HDMI cable it comes with is basic but decent quality. Works well.

The built in features like zebra and letterboxing have been incredibly useful for me.

That's about all I have to say so far. I got this monitor on a deal so it was just under $150 and for that, I'd say there's probably not a better monitor out there. Thanks for reading, hope this helps!

[1x Barrel Input] The resolution is crisp and bright. Conversion LUTs are already installed, and it records FHD 60p. All of the settings and features are useful and easily accessible and it literally comes with almost everything you need to use it right out of the box. If you have a Sony NP-F then you do have everything you need to use it right out of the box. I went ahead and ordered a SmallRig tilt and swivel mount thinking the one in the box would be junk, but it is a legit all metal tilt and swivel cold shoe mount. It even comes with a full size SD card. It's seriously worth every penny but it does have some setbacks. It does not playback over HDMI but it does playback everything you capture internally. Focus peaking does not work while recording either. There really isn't any other option at this price point and I have to admit my expectations were a little low but this thing not only blew me away but has earned a permanent spot on my camera. The cable included is full size so if you shoot Canon you will need to get a micro.

[Yes] I had never heard of this company before, so I was a little nervous, but the reviews were good so I pulled the trigger. I am so glad I did, this monitor feels like $1000 monitor, the menu is intuitive, the image is bright, and really, really nice. it has an aluminum body with arri pin mount points, and honestly feels way more expensive than my past Atomos monitors. This is a tremendous value for the money. I cannot stress that enough!

[1x L-Series] Incredible image quality, great UI, & at a great price. You can't go wrong if you are just starting & need to level up your videography game.

[Yes] I use this ALL the time and I LOVE it.

[9 W (Maximum)] I bought this to make sure I was focusing correctly on my smaller a6600. It is useful, not super heavy, and a decent value. Only thing to note is that it doesn't come with a charger (it's not listed in the packaging but an easy thing to miss).

[6.5 to 16.8 VDC] So for many years, I have used an atomos shogun as my 7 inch display for my Red camera set ups. this display is going to absolutely blow your mind for the price I just couldn’t believe how amazing it was to open the box see a hard case, and take out a cold, aluminum, professional, feeling monitor that punches so high above its weight.
It has function buttons on the top, which were very easily to program, it also included two thin cable SDI’s that have the twisting head where you can spin it around on the SDI port and it’s just absolutely brilliant that they included that and the fact is they give you two of those SDI cables and an HDMI cable and a hard case.
You get look up tables which my monitor actually had inside of it a free 32 gig SD card!

If you’re going to import look up tables, the card it comes with has folders in it already drop your look up tables directly into that folder do not use sub folders. You will then be able to import your lights into the display.
The only thing I wish it had is EL zone and that’s a really really really big ask for a budget display so again if you wanna have a display even for an hour set up or read or anything high-end nobody’s going to question this display unless they look up the logo This is a five star home run budget display and I am so glad that I ordered one early in case other people figured that before me.
Zero regrets … oh and not to mention the fact that you can import HDMI up to 4K 30 into the display so if I’m shooting with my R5 as a video platform for example again, I just can’t say enough good things about this display.
