[Metal] Ring made of steel, a magnet sticks to it, so it is well made. Looks identical to the original fittings for Speedotron flash head & cover. When used it matches perfectly to my Cheetah, Multidome, & Calumet softboxes & also matches to the Speedotron flash head. Quality product at decent price. My Speedotron 1200 pack purchased in 1975, still works, used with Vivitar optical slave & Godox AD200 with Godox trigger. Power with Speedotron, control with Godox. Yes I recommend the Fotodiox ring insert.

[Metal] I was on the fence about this. I already had v-flats and wanted to just use those as eyelighter instead of buying a big eyelighter reflector. This little thing did the job well and I can definitely see using it to hold various reflectors a lot. Will I get an eyelighter reflector in the future? Yes, but for now this is cheap and fine.

[Metal] My biggest gripe with the Shape FS7 V-Lock quick release baseplate was that it only secured to the camera in two spots. This piece solves that particular problem, giving you three points of contact between the base and the camera. There is a threaded screw hole dead center in front of the U. It's a shame it is not included with the plate and that it took a call to Shape to find out exactly what this piece did and how it fit into the package. However, since I feel like my rig is much more secure, it's money well spent.

The speed ring was a perfect fit and worth every penny! Say goodbye to bulky soft boxes! I hope they come out with a larger soft box for this system- I will be first in line!

[Metal] This is being used to feed RCA feed-through jacks into wooden enclosure, not the intended use, but it fit the bill for the right price. Finish is superb and machine is precise.
