Q: 2. Can this be used with the chimera pancake softboxes?

A: Yes, as long as your Tota lamp doesn't exceed the rating of 1500 watts. For any softbox, you absolutely must check the manufacturer's watt ratings. Lowell Totas typically use lamps at 500, 750, or 1,000 watts -- far too hot for most softboxes.Many softboxes are rated only for strobes or for flourescent lights, With these boxes, Tota lights present a serious fire hazard. Even if you're within the maximum rating, remove the inner fabric diffuser, open the vents, turn your lights off at every opportunity, and keep a fire extinguisher nearby.

Q: 3. I have the speed ring, what insert do I need to be able to use with an Apurture bowens mount?

A: The Bowen-S mount is universal and industry standard, however the diameter of the adapter ring may very. To choose the correct adapter ring I would suggest to find the speed ring that you have on our website and take a look in accessories. If the speed ring that you have is from current Chimera soft-box then this is the adapter for Bowen-S that will fit the speed ring.

A: Yes this is compatible with a Profoto 800 watt HMI.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with broncolor picolite?

A: This softbox is not compatible with the Broncolor Picolite.

Q: 6. Is this simply a swap into a nylon Chimera speedring? I have a number of rings with Balcar/Whitelightning. I want to switch them to Bowens.

A: This Chimera product would be the center insert rather than the outer nylon ring that accepts the softbox rods.

Q: 7. Does this work with aputure 120d 2

A: You could use this with a Aputure 120d MKII.

Q: 8. I want to use with profoto HMI 800w. Its heat resistent ?

A: I would say no. This material is for leds or quick burst flash or strobes.Hot Lights would burn after a short time. However at the price point its an expendable.You can always order stronger material from Jem Lighting in Hollywood. Or have it made local.

Q: 9. Would this fit on the Broncolor F160?

A: Yes this will work on a F160.

Q: 10. Can the fabric be replaced? Mine has become pretty beat, and I don't need to purchase the whole thing again.

A: No, the fabric for the FotodioX Lantern Globe Softbox (20", Bowens Speed Ring) is not sold separately.

[1.3 lb] The first time I used it I thought how are these images going to turn out? but they looked better than I thought they would. I am impressed by this ball of light, and it is easy to put together. I had it up and running in about five minutes. 5

[Metal] Ring made of steel, a magnet sticks to it, so it is well made. Looks identical to the original fittings for Speedotron flash head & cover. When used it matches perfectly to my Cheetah, Multidome, & Calumet softboxes & also matches to the Speedotron flash head. Quality product at decent price. My Speedotron 1200 pack purchased in 1975, still works, used with Vivitar optical slave & Godox AD200 with Godox trigger. Power with Speedotron, control with Godox. Yes I recommend the Fotodiox ring insert. 5

[1.3 lb] I can't compare this to other options on the market since this was my first jump into a globe soft box. But I had an important shoot, a round table discussion of VERY powerful executives for a client and I needed a way to light everyone evenly with an attractive light. I bought this globe on a whim, connected it to my Came-TV 100 watt COB LED, and the light quality was AMAZING. I'd suggest that you look for an inexpensive hard case (or at least harder case than the unpadded bag this light comes packed in) because if you are anything like me, you have a lot of equipment and because of the necessary engineering techniques to make this work and fold down easily, it is very vulnerable to crush damage. I currently make sure to tell my assistants that this has to be "top of stack" in any loading, but I am looking for a harder case (which will probably be more expensive than this globe) so I don't have to worry about damage. The quality of the light is what I will be protecting, not the cost of the globe (which is strangely inexpensive). I will be buying more of these immediately. Instantly upped the quality of what I provided the client. 5

[1.3 lb] I have a medium Chimera pancake fitted for a triolet ring, but I recently bought an Aputure 200x that has a Bowen mount. This ring adapter allows me to use my pancake lantern on the 200x. Chimera makes these adapters for so many different lights, which really prolongs my lantern's life. 5
