Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to carry a gimbal like the DJI RSC2 in this bag? Along with the camera and lenses?

A: Even at its smallest, the RSC2 does consume quite a bit of space, especially if you plan on keeping it well protected. The Compagnon Element backpack will fit the RSC2 with minimal camera gear, and it will depend on the size of your camera and lenses.

Q: 2. Will this fit the Canon RF 600mm f4?

A: The Canon RF 600mm f/4 L IS USM Lens does fit into Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack (Black, 30L), though the diameter of the hood is a bit snug.

Q: 3. Does the Kiboko 2.0 have a zippered compartment behind the padded back?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 4. can the carrying straps be stowed away?

A: Yes, you remove the waist-belt, then you can tuck the straps away into the zippered compartment on the back of the bag.

Q: 5. will it fit the surface pro 3 ?

A: This case won't fit a Surface Pro 3.

Q: 6. Will it accommodate Nikon Z9 attached with NIKKOR Z 400MM F/2.8 TC VR S?

A: The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack (Black, 30L) is too small to fit the Nikon Z9 with the 400mm lens attached.

Q: 7. Will this accommodate a canon ef 500mm f/4 and a canon 200-400mm f4 at the same time?

A: The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack (Black, 30L) can hold either the Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM lens or the Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM Lens, but not both.

Q: 8. Will this fit underneath an airplane seat?

A: The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack (Black, 30L) is 20.47 x 12.6 x 6.69. should fit under the seat in most planes. But best as each plane is different to contact the airline you use most for that size.

Q: 9. will fit canon RF 400mm f2.8 attached/unattached to canon R5 with grip with lens hood in packed position?

A: The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 is not large enough for the Canon 400mm f2.8 RF lens.

Q: 10. Does this fit into the overhead storage bin on smaller regional jets? Obviously it won't fit under the seat, and you certainly wouldn't want to check it.

A: The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 30L Backpack will fit in overhead storage, (limited to 21 inch length pack), on major airlines. Smaller or regional jets may vary in their limitations.

[4.015 lb] I have more camera backpacks and cases than I would like to admit. In general, I prefer Lowepro but this one just seemed perfect for me. The split compartments is idea. I put my Nikon camera and lenses on one side and my Sony on the other. It has more storage than one thinks and it is all easily accessible when you lay it on it's back. The material is light but strong. The zippers are great. The two handles are strong and comfortable. If you are just carrying the pack to a location you can pack the shoulder straps out of the way. (The waste belt must be removed.) Camera packs are personal but this one is perfect for me. I recommend it.

[Zipper] It’s my 4th Gura Gear backpack after Uinta, G32, Kiboko 22 . So far the best one. Fixes all the flaws in the G32 construction, making it a solid upgrade and a great evolution of the Kiboko line. The shallower depth was much anticipated as I often had problems with putting my G32 into overheads on smaller aircrafts. As for the space inside, no problem at all to fit my D850,D500, Z6 800/5.6 (w/aquatech hood), 500/5.6, 50/1.8Z, 24-70/4, FTZ, TC1.2,TC1.4 and still have some space for accessories. My beast D850 TC1.2 fits into one compartment (body detached). The rest fits into the second one, with some better arrangement I think I’ll be able to squize 24-24/2.8 as well, though haven’t tried that yet. Zippers work smooth, much better than in G32. The black colour and narrower fit makes it visually smaller from the G32 which is a plus while being at the gate - much less chances to being asked for carry on weight control as it looks really normal :) summing up, the best backpack on the market. Only con is the price.

[4.015 lb] I have 5 of these original bags - pack them around the world photography wildlife & landscapes - the original one was superb - was unhappy with the tarmac updated version they have been selling since the original Kiboko was discontinued- the tarmac version zippers were horrible to use - slowed you down getting your gear quickly for that unexpected shot - the version zippers are back to the quality of the original that Andy Biggs wildlife photographer designed on the original - BH photo could not tell me if the new zippers were better than the tamrac so I contacted Andy - he assured me version 2 is back to the original quality and he was right - now it is lower height in the bag - can still get my 1dxmii with canon 200-400 1.4 with lens hood in without issue - a little concerned that a sony 400 f2.8 being 1 1/4 higher before lens hood might not fit..dont have the sony yet so I cannot test - one criticism is that while the backpack system is definitely made more robust than the original it is very hard to stuff the backpack stuff into the zippered compartment - my original stuffs in fast and does not increase the depth much - this revised version being so cosy for the zipper compartment results in greater depth than the original but it seems to come to the approximate 9 that the airlines especially in Europe & Australia demand so I think it will be okay and I am hoping with use that the zipper compartment will stretch a little to allow easier in and out - if you travel, worry about airlines causing you a problem I recommend you buy this bag

[Yes] I love this bag. I had the original and when it was discontinued, I did everything I could to scrounge a backup bag on eBay. When this was released, I grabbed one right away. Pretty much the same as the old bag - which is a great thing. You can get more gear in this than most (if not all) other 30L bags, access is far better (you don't have to open the entire front flap to get to something at the bottom), and it's incredibly versatile. I've used the current bag for wildlife shoots all over the world and it's been great. Even fits my Nikon 600mm!

[Yes] The good and bad part of this bag is its butterfly compartment which opens 50% of the bag on each side allowing you to organise stuffs according to your usage. Eg. 1 side tripod, the other camera. Or 1 side clothings, the other camera gears. Once open its incredibly easy to organise them using old school velcro partitions which it comes with a ton of it. The catch it, balancing the weight on both side.

Something notable is the design to keep all the waistband and straps to be tucked inside and make the bag looks very neat not to mention the material makes the bag feather weight. You will tend to overload with things to make the bag feels heavy. Try other bags with the same load you will realise how lightweight this bag can be.

I've used the first generation, sold it because of its design - too plain, not exciting and opted for those adventure looking bag. Not only they cost me more most of the time, no 1 is going to look good with the extra weight of these bags bogging the photographer down. I have since used 3-4 other major brands equivalent and decided to go back to this version 2.

Overall not an exciting bag, but very practical for me. If i'm carrying it on the street like an urban bag, I won't buy it. If I'm bringing for travel and goes to forest, tundra, national parks, the animals will not care at all.

PS: the company seems to be uncontactable nowadays not sure are they still operating. Buy them while you can.

[Camouflage] I had wanted this bag for a long time and finally found it on sale for Christmas. I have the 2 smaller ones and they serve their purpose. This one does as well. I am able to carry a 600mm f/4 without the lens hood on 1 side and whatever else I need on the other. I haven't tried the 800mm f/5.6 but it is supposed to work as well. It is a large case but lightweight and manageable. Now I can finally go places with my 600mm lens. You can use the top compartments for batteries and cards as well as hard drives. I have wanted this pack for a long time and finally decided to go for it.
