The Kase MovieMate Magnetic Night Light Pollution Filterfrom Kase MovieMate Magnetic Night Light Pollution Filteris a neutral night light pollution filter made to fit the MovieMate Magnetic Matte Box. It removes the yellow cast caused by light pollution during night photography, isolating the harmful effect of artificial lights on imaging. Especially useful for late-night, long-exposure imaging near cities or other sources of light pollution, this filter cuts light from the color spectrum, like that from low-CRI light sources.

This filter is multicoated and features an infrared-cut coating for accurate light and color transmission. It also has a scratch-resistant and waterproof coating for use in harsh environments with easy cleaning. It has a 95mm unthreaded, magnetic filter ring, which attaches to the required, separately available MovieMate Round Filter Insert Frame.

[Glass] I have a collection of all available brands of light pollution filters and the NISI, at least for me provides the best effect for my nightscape photography. I own several different versions of the Nisi from the different screw on sizes to this one I use with an Irix lens, and the NiSi Cinema 6.6×6.6” Yellow Light Blocker (Natural Night) I use on my Sigma 20mm F/1.4 Art with a Fotodiox Wonder Pana Adapter. These filters accentuate the blue more than the red like most of the other brands seem to do, and thereby they complement my style of nightscape photography in a more pleasing way and simplify the setting of white balance and color blending in post.

[Light Pollution] For use with astrophotography and golden and blue hour photos works great the difference is really superb. It brings out detail that is not very visible without using one.

[Aluminum] Just wow. Loved the NiSi filter! Was shooting in Charleston where there were SO MANY city lights of various colors and temperatures, a wonderful bridge that had LED lights... the NiSi filter helped to sort it all out and clean it up to create this beautiful shot!! Definitely will be keeping it in my bag!

[Aluminum] I purchased this filter for nightscape astrophotography to reduce the effects of light pollution and to produce a more natural sky color. I use it on a Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 lens. The filter does just what it's supposed to do. The sample images here are right out of the camera, with the identical exposure, one taken with the NiSi 150x150 Natural-Night Filter and one without, from a location about an hour west of Washington, D.C.

[Aluminum] I'm not sure how long rear filters have been around, but this is absolutly groundbreaking for astrophotography, as well as other purpose filters ie: Polarizer, Neutral Density, B&W, etc. So much easier, and cheaper, than purchasing numerous front filters and the smudges and dust they attract, not to mention the space those velcro filter holders take up in your gear bag. I'd rather have room for another lens (or two). Simply cover your lens with a UV/protection filter. Lastly, these rear filters are simple and easy to change out. I'll personally just use one camera for astrophotography and will buy a rear Polarizer filter for one of my other cameras for daylight shooting.

[Aluminum] I use this for Astro and cityscapes. Really does make a difference. Can't afford not to have to this in your arsenal.

[Aluminum] This filter fits the A7R IV perfect. Be sure to place it in with the letters towards the camera and press the top until you feel the click. I have had no issues with it. It does a good job reducing the yellow in night photography and making the colors of light more realistic. Hard to beat for the price and convenience of using it with any lens.
