The film is orthochromatic and lacks an anti-halation layer, which gives your photos a high diffusion effect and beautiful grain. This film will produce a unique and beautiful black and white image different from traditional film stock.

This film stock is subject to "light piping" when exposed to room light. Please load it in dim light and store it in a dark camera bag before and after shooting. If storing your film in a fridge, freezer, or home shelf, store it in a light tight bag as well.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What ISO is this Film?

A: According to the manufacturer's website, they state the suggested speed for outdoor usage is ISO 10 in sunlight, and the suggested speed using strobe/flash is ISO 5.

Q: 2. Will 620 film fit a developer reel for 120 film? If not, what is the best way to process the 620 roll?

A: Yes 620 film will fit the same developing reel as 120 film.

Q: 3. any information on reciprocity?

A: I've shot a couple rolls, I like the images and I did a couple long exposures without compensating and all negatives were of normal density. However even though it's an ASA 25 film the grain is finer with Ilford Pan f 50.

Q: 4. Im ONLY 4 days into my Mamiya 645 1000s path, how do I know what films I can use in my camera,or,are all 120 films useable in the camera?

A: Any 120 film is compatible with the Mamiya 645 1000s.

Q: 5. Will this work in an old No 2 Cartridge Hawk-Eye model C?

A: Yes the Kentmere Pan 100 Black & White Negative Film (120 Roll Film) will work in the Hawk-eye No. 2 Model C camera. Just makes sure it is not No 2c as that uses 116 film not 120.

Q: 6. I have a Hawkeye. At what point on the paper backing markers do I start taking pictures? I'm at the dots; will numbers appear?

A: You would turn the advance knob until you see "1" appear on the window in the back of the camera.

Q: 7. I'm trying to find a way to developp this film with Ilford ID-11 developper but I can't find any information about this anywhere?

A: Development time in tanks (68°F/20°C) for Ilford Delta 100 35mm film: Stock solution = 7 min. Diluted 1+1 = 10 min. Diluted 1+3 = 15.5 min.

Q: 8. Can this film safely go through airport x-ray machines?

A: Regarding whether the Film Photography Project Black and White Negative X-Ray Film (4 x 5", 25 Sheets) can go safely through airport X-ray machines, most film is safe under 400 ISO. However, I would still ask for a hand check.

Q: 9. Will this work for a Kodak Duaflex?

A: Yes, the Kodak Duaflex takes 620 film and should work with the Film Photography Project basic black and white negative 620 roll film.

Q: 10. Will this film work for an old point and shoot beacon 225 box film camera?

A: Yes, the Film Photography Project Basic Black and White Negative Film (620 Roll Film) will work in the Beacon Two-Twenty Five (1950).

[0.06 lb] I've been using FPP's X-ray film in homemade pinhole cameras and processing in Caffenol C. The film reminds me of infrared, getting deep blacks and satisfying contrast when my exposures are 'on'. In combination with the lensless approach the result is surreal. My Caffenol formula for those interested, 27grams washing soda, 8grams Vitamin C, 20grams instant coffee, 3grams of iodized salt and 500ml of water. Some recent examples. I'm about to order another box!

[0.06 lb] This is my favourite large format film! I use it in 4x5 and cut it up to make 2x3. The tonal rage is great and it renders skin tones well. In addition, it is very forgiving on overexposure, meaning that a wide variety of shots are possible, including on antique cameras like mine, which are over 120 years old.

[1] I want to recreate some of the nuances of old b/w monster movies and what better time than the next few weeks! Halloween is around the corner! As of this review it is Sept 21, 2030. I have lined up one model so far, well two if you count her dog...LOL. She has a look that will render very good on this film. Now to find a good location in this 4 block town. Somewhere creepy looking...ya. Thanks to the staff of B&H always getting my orders out right away. I have recommended B&H to my photographer, videographer and musician friends, all of which are now big B&H customers!
