Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this pin threaded to receive a 1/4 -10 double end spigot? Trying to solve attaching a Amran/Apurture LED panel.

A: This pin is not threaded at all. It's designed to be used in a pinch-clamp of a C-stand. The end with the reduced diameter is where a strobe would be added, and tightened into place by the set screw of the strobe.

Q: 2. Are the feet adjustable for leveling?

A: Yes, the feet on the Proaim 3-Stage PTZ Camera Support Stand with 5/8" Baby-Pin & Ball Head are slightly adjustable.

Q: 3. can be used innovative scout37 cart? and what size upright

A: There is no indication this can be used with an Innovative Scout cart. The product name itself indicates that this made for use with a Proaim Victor cart.

Q: 4. I tried to use this on a c-stand with my elinchrom D-Lite 400W/s RX 4 Flash Head but the head does not fit on it properly. I bought the elinchrom in a bundle that included light stands. The elinchrom fits on the light stand perfectly. Now, I want to put the flash head on my c-stand. What are the proper attachments to do this to connect it to a c-stand?I bought the following products:a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1086351-REG/elinchrom_el_20842_2_d_lite_rx_4_2_light.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1086351-REG/elinchrom_el_20842_2_d_lite_rx_4_2_light.html/aa href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/372016-REG/Impact_CT40MKIT_Master_Century_C_Stand.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/372016-REG/Impact_CT40MKIT_Master_Century_C_Stand.html/aThanks.

A: Your Elinchrom Head should fit on the 6-inch pin on the smaller, grooved, off-set end of the pin. But, first slide the small end of the pin through the appropriate-sized hole in the grip-head (on the arm extension) after turning the handle on the grip head to loosen the grip head and open the holes wide enough to slip the pin through. Then tighten the grip head handle to hold the pin in place, and to the angle you choose. Once that is done, you can then attach the Elinchrom head to the grooved end of the pin and re-adjust the angle and height.

Q: 5. Is this a 5/8" baby pin for mounting lights with a grip arm?

A: Yes, the Impact 6" Baby Pin with Collar 1/4 and 3/8" Tap would be a baby pin with a 5/8" diameter designed for mounting lights when using a grip arm or grip head.

Q: 6. Is the baby pin constructed from steel or aluminum? Others have stated that the avenger drop down pin has an aluminum pin and I want to know if this one is better.

A: Lower half appears (that attaches to your C - Stand) appears to be steel, (Magnet sticks) Upper half is aluminum. (no magnet stick). Knobs are aluminum. I choose this one for the lock up knob, so I have that little bit of extra functionality over the Avenger.

Q: 7. Need ultra-light head (for travel) to grip 5/8" foamcore fork on stand. Is this strong enough to position a 4x4' board?

A: Yes, as long as you will be positioning the Foamcore in an upright position it will hold. If you will be positioning the Foamcore in a position that puts more stress on the lock like in a horizontal position it may not hold as well. It will all depend on how it is used. Another option I could suggest to you would be the Matthews Mini Grip Head. BH #MAMGH For full control of the Foamcore you may need to get a normal sized grip head.

Q: 8. Will this fit the female baby pin receiver in Elinchrom monoblocks? The female receivers in Elinchrom lights are slightly less deep than most receivers and not all baby pins fit correctly.

A: This is a Universal baby pin mount there should be no issues using this on Elinchrom

Q: 9. I REALLY like this handle but I want a NATO attachment, like their other handles. Can I switch the attachment arm?

A: A good alternate handle with a similar design to the Proaim SnapRig Universal Wood Side Handle is listed below. Proaim SnapRig Wood Mini Side Handle (NATO Clamp) BH #PRWSH02 • MFR #WSH-02 SmallRig Wooden Side Handle with NATO Clamp BH #SM2187B

Q: 10. What is the length (end-to-end) of the entire piece when it is straight?

A: It's about 9" (22.9cm) long.

[0.495 lb] As is typical for Matthews, this adapter is solid. I have paired it with a Manfrotto 492 Micro Ball Head as a smooth and solid mount for placing a small monitor onto a C-stand. I am very happy with the solution.

[0.495 lb] Pretty handy as it also fits my camera accessories with standard locating holes. I attached it to a camera cage and it became one of the simplest ways to rig for a top-down shot.

[8.2 x 4.8 x 3"] These are the only baby pins I own, so based on that, they feel super high quality in my hand, very nice finish on them, they screw effortlessly. Overall very nice. Now if I can only find more used for them!

[8.2 x 4.8 x 3"] It’s kinda simple, it adds a baby pin to the cart, but that’s great! I use it as a light mount, one less C stand to carry around. Or I use it as a Steadimate Steadicam stand while balancing my rig or between shoots. Very handy to have.

Only minor complaint, it would be nice to have the hardware that lets you clamp on the hardware after the cart is assembled instead of having to install before the top shelf is on. That said, it’s not something you rearrange a ton.

[Aluminum] Need a baby pin that does more? These things do the trick.

Note that this set of two pins are in fact two different styles:

One pin that has a 3/8-16 female connector on both ends with a 3/8-16 removable bolt.

One pin that has a 3/8-16 female connector on ONE side and a MALE connector on the other side with a removable threaded washer.

They can connect to create one Big Baby Pin (Toddler Pin?).

With some additional connectors/washers these thing make great legs for the Inovativ DigiPlate which is primarily how I am using them.
