Q: 1. The specs state: 12x 15 W 6-in-1 RGBAW+UV LEDs. So 12X 15Watt = 180 Watts. At 180 Watts I would indeed by a few of these lights however Power Consumption states 42 watts! This indicates about 20% of the stated light output. Are these lights in fact 42 Watts or 180 Watts? If they are 180 Watts, the power consumption should be about 185-190 Watt total. Thanks for any help!

A: Each LED emitter is capable of generating six types of light (hence the 6-in-1 designation). However, each emitter does not do so at the same time. For example, if set to emit only UV light, it will not also emit red, blue, white, amber, or green light. Now, each 6-in-1 emitter is really and truly six emitters in one. The draw for each of those six is a lot less than 15W. However, the standard practice in electronics is to list each six-in-one emitter according to the total that its six subcomponents can create, not the amount they would create on any one setting.

Q: 2. Max throw distance?

A: Of course, the answer is dependent on what color combination you use. We are using 7 of these on a 35ft X 15ft stage. The lights cross-throw and are approximately 40ft from their landing point. The entire stage is very well lit at about 80 percent dimmer brightness. Hope this helps.

Q: 3. Do you recommend this printer for taking to out of state events via checking onto airlines?

A: I bought the carrying case for my DS80 and DS40 and I'm not sure that I'd let airline personnel put one below deck so to speak. Maybe in the original box I might? I'd sure as heck get insurance on it!

Q: 4. Any print pack for 4x6?

A: Unfortunately, there isnt a 4X6 media option for the DNP DS80. It only accepts 8X10 and 8X12 media.

Q: 5. will it work with windows 10?

A: Yes, you have to use the included CD if it included updated drivers. The web site also contains drivers but you have to download first and then install printer.

Q: 6. How do you daisy chain multiple ds80 printers? Although this printer prints really fast, at events I need another printer to keep up with demand. Thanks.

A: The best way is to buy a USB 3 hub then send each batch of photos to the next one available. Far as daisy chain I would call DNP customer service for that.

Q: 7. Is this light flicker free for video?

A: Unfortunately, Blizzard Lighting does not list this unit as being flicker free. However, it would depend on the frame rate in which you are shooting whether it may or may not flicker.

Q: 8. this printer use ink?

A: It uses ribbons, which are calculated per paper.

Q: 9. I love my DNP DS80 and have be using it for 2 years. My printer has started printing a 1/4 inch stripe from 2 inches to 6 inches long on photos. The stripe is not on all photos, but it is showing up on more frequently. Does anyone know a solution before I return the printer?

A: Please review this DNP troubleshooting guide at a href= http://dnpphoto.com/Portals/0/Resources/FAQ_1_Resolving_White_Lines.pdf target= _blank http://dnpphoto.com/Portals/0/Resources/FAQ_1_Resolving_White_Lines.pdf/a in order to fix the problem.

Q: 10. How is the color issue solved? Ive tried the icc profile from DNS website. Colors are completely off from my calibrated NEC monitor using spectraview kit. Ive read all instructions and have changed both the advanced and options tabs. Ive also tried adjusting the colors onbthe driver but still no luck. I hate to buy a colormunki as I already have the spectraview kit for the monitor. Please help! Otherwise its a great printer.

A: Hi also you have to come out with a perfect print by adjusting the print colors and exposure in photoshop or what ever program you use, then adjust the monitor until the print and the monitor are the same, if you ever printed the old way with chemicals, you started with a perfect print, and then you program the analyzer, same principle.

[44.675 lb] At 3W it’s brighter than I thought it would be. The controls are a little weird. You have the onboard buttons that do one thing and then the remote does another. I would buy more if I needed to.

[DMX512, RDM] For the price I was expecting something lightweight, but this is solid, pro-level construction. The range of colors are great and the sound syncing works well. My kids love it too - it took them about 5 minutes to get a dance party going.

[1x Power Cable] Purchased these lights for my facade and they work fantastic for what I need them for. I’ve also used them for partial uplighting and are very bright. Highly recommend a few of these for lighting up big halls but overall they have work great for me!

[IR Remote] Got a couple of these on a Deal Zone and now just bought a third. One came broken in shipping but was quickly replaced. They are solid yet not too heavy. I use these in my video booth and also for video production when I need color washes for backgrounds or lighting effects. The fact that they can run off battery is the main reason I got them because they are so easy to set up.

Customer support at Blizzard was also fast and helpful when being a newbie I didn't realize the power cords had to be TWISTED to lock in addition to being connected in order to charge. That is probably common to DJ lighting but I didn't know. I thought you just plugged them in like a normal piece of equipment.

The best way to use them is the included remote (includes battery) because it's difficult to understand the abbreviated display screen on the light itself. But the remote is really easy to do what you want.

Looking forward to lots of great uses for these lights!

[Black] I absolutely LOVE this light! This makes 18 of these lights for our relatively small community theater (45 seats). The built-in flexibility makes this light perfect for everything from general wash to special effects. GREAT fixture! Will be buying more in the future.

[IR Remote] I bought these for both events and mobile DJ applications since they are battery operated (no searching for power, fast set-up) and the price is definitely right. These lights are great over-all...they are solid (heavy, but not too heavy), and they put out a ton of light for their size. I recently used them at a wedding event and they were still going after 8 hours of use (in fade mode). The only fault I have with these is that the menu on the back of the fixture is LED based and the abbreviations are confusing and not as intuitive as Blizzard's other products. I found a very easy work-around though, and that's to simply use the included remote. That makes setting these up VERY simple...you can choose a color, or a fade/sound active, with full control of brightness/speed right from the remote. Each fixture includes one remote (I got 8 fixtures), so I have plenty of spares if I need them. If you are looking for something with full wireless DMX control I would look elsewhere, but as far as a simple battery powered light I have not seen anything that can beat these for the money.
