[4.095 lb] Simply... I love this light. It's a fantastic value for the money, and it's upsides far surpass any minor issues I have with it.


The light is powerful, well-built, and has a high CRI. It's Powerful enough that there's only been a handful of times I've had it up to 100%. I purchased one originally to replace some 1200w HMI's that were getting past their prime, as well as travel with me when I fly for work, and these light absolutely check both those boxes. Ballast allows for dimming in .1% increments, for very precise control of output. Another reviewer mentioned fan noise, but for me it was dead-silent unless I had my ear up next to it.


Snagged mine on sale, and have to say that it's been one of the better value investments I've made in my kit.


Can't really comment on modifiers and such, because most of what I use the light for is punching it into a large frame of ultra-bounce as a key light (which looks *chef's kiss*).


Minor gripes: 1) The ballast has two speeds of output adjustment: very fast or very slow. 2) I wish Nanlite would package the cables better so they had less memory out-of-the-box. But neither of these are significant problems at all.

[4.095 lb] I do realize these are a good bit away from HMI status but as an Indie Film-maker this is the kinda gear needed in the low end budget!


So far from my limited use this had been fantastic! Great skin rendering and ease of use. I love the new ballast design and yoke.

[4.095 lb] I love Aputure and HMI lights, but the 720B is pretty next level for me, and literally has changed the way I light. I've seen it metered to be as bright as the 600D and 1200 watt HMIs. On shoots it usually draws complements from the accuracy of the color compared to the Aputure lights (those often seem to have a green shift). The overall flexibility of these is the real game changer for me. Coming from HMIs, the only thing that I was used to that could even begin to compare was the Joker 800. Well, this has that beat in just about every way for me. It's brighter, and just so versatile. Softbox, fresnel, intensifier dish, projection mount, and it's all able to be done so fast. Plus Bi-Color? That's a life saver especially when you've got it on a softbox (hard to almost impossible to gel a 720 watt light in a softbox without the gel melting). Other than it not having an IP rating for rain/dust, there's absolutely nothing not to love. I have two, but the sheer do it all nature of these things has me wanting two more. They can literally (almost) do it all!

[4.095 lb] Superb light. I now have three of these (and two 300B). The build quality is stellar; almost everything is metal. The yoke is smooth, easy to operate, and stable. The ballast is actually smaller than my 300B (version 1). The cables are very high-quality and flexible, with durable locking connectors. The cables are quite long, and quite thick, so cable management on set is important. Fan noise is negligible so far for me. And as for the light itself… it's crazy bright and incredible. This setup is replacing my set of studio strobes, so that I have one light kit that I can use for motion or stills.

[4.095 lb] Lots of output - at all color temps with good CRI scores, etc. Seems to be built well to last (fingers crossed). So far I'm very pleased with the purchase. Works well with existing soft boxes I already own - as well as other Bowens modifiers.
I've been Aputure guy... but may start looking at Nanlite more in the future if this keeps up performance.

[4.095 lb] Actually, I can say Nanlite Forza 720B is the best light that I have ever used before

[4.095 lb] This is my second Forza 40 Softbox and I 'd give it 6 stars if I could. Small, lightweight, setup in less than a minute and soft yet efficient light. I shoot interviews of a lot of A-List talent and this soft box helps me travel light, set up quickly and create a complimentary light in most every situation. Works great with both the Forza 60 and 150 and can adapt to the full Bowen mount, as well.

[4.095 lb] The light just provide you with this level of versatility that it almost can be another sun in your workflow whether you work as a photographer or videographer.
