The Magnus VT-QRP650 Sliding Balance Plate for VT Tripodsis a replacement quick release plate for your VT-5000 and VT-6000 tripods. A: Yes it's very smooth, great pan/tilt quality for video.(Just know it has no counterbalance, so if your camera isn't evenly balanced, it may move when you let go of the handle.Not really a problem for me, I just lock the pan/tilt whenever my hand isn't on the handle.)

A: The head assembly is non-removable. You can not replace it with any other adapter.

A: No tilt lock. Actually it doesn't even have a tension adjustment. It's pre-adjusted at the factory. You would think that that would mean it is unstable and moves all over the place. But it works pretty well. I found it quite good for dslr work.

I have one of these that lives on my 70-200mm lens collar and another one that stays on the tripod for when I need to mount to plate to a camera or another accessory. The feature that stands out the most is the rubber padding. The rubber adds for a more snug fits and reduces wiggle room. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review] 5
