[1.195 lb] Sabrent 5 Bay HDD Enclosure - Excellent & Super QUIET 120mm FAN 11/26/23...
Operation very simple using windows 7 pro (8 year old
system) via USB 3.0 connection on my computer.
I bought 2 brand new Seagate Exos X18 12tb HDD and inserted-installed per procedure Sabrent instructions.  First
I had to format the new HDD per my computer’s operating system, once formatted you are good to download all your files.

I downloaded all my computer files to the new HDDs very
quickly even using an outdated computer with old USB 3.0.  The Sabrent has USB 3.2 gen 1 10 gps out to
utilize a faster connection on a newer computer etc.

TO ALL THE BAD REVIEWERS:

THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH THE 120mm FAN - THE FAN IS SUPER QUIET SITTING ON MY DESK IN FRONT OF MY KEYBOARD AS IT’S WRITING TO THE DRIVES.  THE ONLY SOUND IS A VERY TINY SQUIGGLE SOUNDS BARELY CAN HEAR FROM THE HDD DRIVES WRITING.

The Included AC Cable is 48” long and USB 3.2 cable 33” long.  Now if that doesn’t suit your needs then you
can always buy longer AC and USB 3.2 gen 1 or 2 if needed.

Example: there are 6ft Computer Power Cord NEMA 5-15P to C13 10A 125V 18AWG available if you need etc.

THE ONLY CON is the insides of the enclosure had brown dust inside the walls which I cleaned out with a tissue which when they assembled these they should have cleaned the inside walls of the metal enclosure before assembly of the entire unit components etc.  The
empty housings were probably out in the open laying around not covered before they assembled the unit and so this issue should have been but they need better quality control in keeping parts cleaned before assemble.

This is a great buy and happy I did not pay attention to the
negative reviews, there is all positives with this unit and very very quiet and until I use it for the next couple of years is the only caveat how long this unit works without any issues time will tell.

[ABS, Aluminum] Previously, without the Sabrent docking station, I had an assortment of external drives, each with separate hard drive enclosures and a mess of USB cables and AC adapter cords. Now, with the Sabrent docking station, I use _one_ USB cable and _one_ AC adapter cable to connect these external drives from the docking station to my computer.
The build quality of the Sabrent docking station is excellent: sturdy and well-engineered. I plan to buy another Sabrent docking station very soon.

They have been working nicely.

[ABS, Aluminum] I bought this unit to allow me to move high capacity disk drives between machines for video editing.
It does exactly what I wanted. Moving drives is just a matter of opening the door, sliding them in, and closing the door. Te computer recognizes the drives, and I'm back to editing, rendering, or capturing files. The only comment I have is other reviewers say the doors are hard to use. To me they feel right. Like closing a door on a high quality product with a snug fit. When you close it, you know the drive is ready for work.

[1.195 lb] I love this little box -- it's a simple sturdy all-metal chassis that is exactly what I was looking for. The overall size is compact and it runs fairly cool and quiet.

PROS
- Rugged and well-built
- Large fan runs quiet while keeping your drives cool. the fan doesn't spin up until there's an active drive.
- Two usb ports (one to connect your computer, and another to daisy chain additional devices.
- Built-in power supply (no power brick) -- uses an average IEC power cord (included) that you probably have dozens of spares lying around. This is an advantage over the current 4-bay version.
- Drives just pop into a free bay, no caddy or mounting hardware of any kind required
- Good USB 3.2 speeds (your drives will probably be the limiting factor)
- Power switch on the front panel for each of the 5 drive bays

The lack of RAID support isn't a negative for me because I was looking for a JBOD solution. If I ever need that feature, I can choose one of the many software RAID solutions out there. Only thing missing is Thunderbolt support, but I can live without that given it has USB 3.2.
