A: The light has many configurations. If you use it with all of the lights you will get different kind of catch light in the eyes. It will be like a ring light, round but also you will see spoke like shape. If you use just the ring light without the other lights you get the traditional ring catch light in the eyes. The light in general is led and is not as soft as lights with soft boxes but this design is very versatile light.

A: You can use Impact Aluminum Mid-Range Boom Arm BH # IMLSABAMR2 on top of a solid light stand.

Q: 5. Do you sell a Grid for the Snapbag in this kit? The Snapgrid in this kit goes on the fixture.

A: There are various grid cloths but no eggcrate available for this kit.

A: The unfolded dimensions of the TRP WORLDWIDE Full Grid Cloth Diffusion for Snapbag (35 x 24"), B&H # TRSBCFNSF, included with the purchase of the TRP WORLDWIDE Snapbag for Aputure Nova P300C is 35" x 24" in inches (90 x 60 cm).

Q: 7. Blanking on the correct terminology, but what is the "throw" of this light...in other words, how close do you have to be? To what distance from the subject will it be effective?

A: The GVM -600S LED Ring Light would be effective up to 10 feet

A: Consider attaching the light to the Impact Swivel Umbrella Adapter, and placing the adapter on the stand. This will allow you to mount the light securely and achieve the degree of adjustability you are looking for. Q: 9. Since this runs with a DC adapter, has anyone tried to power with a battery and what voltage is supplied to the light by the AC adapter?

A: According to the manufacturer, GVM states that the GVM LED Ring Light Soft Light 600S is not designed for battery power usage. The unit comes with a power adapter and a power cable designed for AC usage on 110 to 220 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz voltage. The included power adapter has a DC plug connection which plugs into the ring light, into which you would plug in the power cable to plug the setup into a standard household AC outlet. However, this DC plug connection is solely for the AC power adapter, not for DC battery power usage. The unit does include two (2) DC double-ended cables, but they are designed to connect and power two light bars from the ring light without the light bars being directly connected to the ring light. If you need to power the light fixture on location, as it is not a battery-powered light fixture, you would have to purchase a power inverter such as the Photogenic Ion Lithium-ion Pure Sine Wave Inverter System, B&H # PHION, or the Interfit Nomad Portable Battery Pack B&H # INNOM100, for your location usage needs. Both units listed above are battery-powered, but they have a built-in standard AC power outlet which allows you to power the setup on location.

[Fabric] This is a must have for the Snapgrid Octa box. Iâ€ve fit it several times and the grid is always about 1-2 inches too big. It still works just fine, but not sure if it was measured wrong. Cuts spill light by 40 degrees. Works great!! 5

[Fabric] I've been using a pair of these with Astera Titan's - SNAPGRID does make a version that fits those tubes more appropriately but I do like the fact that I can use them with quasars and kino flo tubes if I wanted to. I also have two Honeycrates that are made specifically for the Astera Titans - they too are great! Now, I actually prefer each for different reasons. With the SNAPGRID if feels much more rigid and the dividers keep their shape better. I have to do a test to be sure, but I felt like the SNAPGRID, because of it's better rigidity, helped to keep exposure levels higher. This could entirely be in my mind, only doing a meter test will reveal - but the Honeycrates felt a little more loose. 5

[Fabric] I'd held off buying one of these because they are so pricey - by the time you've added the modifiers an Astra is an expensive light. But it's a really great way of controlling spill and I'm happy I got it eventually. Stays in the kit box! 5
