The Hawk-Woods Mini V-Lok Mount D-Tap USB Z CAM 4Kis designed to work with the BP-U Direct Mount for Z CAM (DV-BP2). The DV-BP2 will fit to the Z CAM 4K camera's L-series fitting and screw in via a back plate which is intended to stay mounted physically to the camera, the LEMO fly lead will be attached to this product to power via the DC input. This then provides you with a Sony BP-U fitting.

The Mini V-Lok Camera Mount offers you a dummy BP-U fitting to a mini V-Lok (V-mount) plate. This product then offers you 1 D-tap and 1 USB output. With this design the product is all in-line with the camera, offering you great extended run-times over the L-series batteries. With this system, you can have the option of using Hawk-Woods BP-U-style batteries or Hawk-Woods Mini V-Lok (V-mount) batteries and changing between the two couldn't be simpler.

A: The Hawk-Woods VL-AS1 V-Mount Fitting Adapter for Atomos Flame/Inferno Monitors could have an issue mounting onto the Atomos Shinobi 7" 4K HDMI/SDI Monitor since the plate will block the DC barrel input port, unlike on the Atomos Ninja Inferno 7" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor and the Atomos Shogun Flame 7" 4K HDMI/SDI Recording Monitor.

A: Yes, this will work with other brands of Mini V-Mount batteries.

A: The Hawk-Woods Sony FX9 Battery Plate with D-Tap & USB Out (Gold Mount) combined with the Sony FX6, does have the same power requirements with the FX9. This has only been tested with the FX9, so we can only speak for how it was made to operate.

A: It's a fairly impressive and economically priced battery made in the UK. Life span may be around 2-3 years when properly cycled with discharge/recharge sessions.

A: Yes, it is safe to power the Sony A7SIII and Atomos Shinobi Monitor through D-Tap cables. It is best to get a regulated D-Tap cable for each device.

[V-Mount] Even though it seems to be of a design that may fail, I have used it non-stop for two years of Production Sound for double system film sound recording and it has worked perfectly. I actually bought two of them in case one failed, but so far I have only used one. It is much better than the one made by Sound Devices, because it has a lower profile when fitted with an XL-B3 battery pack. A professional will pay attention to what they are doing when inserting and removing this, and will never have problems! 5

[V-Mount] I was looking for a small, low profile power system to power my Sony A7Sii, monitor, follow focus and wireless transmitter. I bought this with the Hawk-Woods 98Wh and 150Wh Mini V-Mount batteries. Since the plate comes with 4 built in D-Tap receptacles I am able to have one small but powerful battery source for everything. The plate also takes my full size V-Mount batteries should I need them in. 5

[1] This adapter could be sold by dozens if it was better marketed. It is a fantastic idea for anyone with on set monitors (focus pullers, camera ops, video village) . Worth EVERY penny. Hot swap is the bomb. 5

[1] This is NOT Velcro! Its one strip and it sticks to itself when you press the pieces together. The glue on the back is quite strong. The teeth on the strip are deeper than Velcro. The material is very stiff, suitable for holding items of moderate weight. If you want to hold light wires together, use something else. I will probably want more of this. 5

[V-Mount] Velcro works, but dual -lock is much more stable. I trust it with objects like a Teredek. 5

[V-Mount] I use this with a MixPre-3 and a hirose-to-d-tap cable. Works as expected. Its awesome to be able to power the MixPre off camera battery. Would buy again. Only suggestion I have is that if you do use this to power your MixPre, and if you feed a signal back into your camera (i.e. not just record to the MixPre, but also send a scratch track signal from the MixPre to the camera), then you will want to get a ground loop isolator to put in your signal chain. Otherwise the in-camera scratch track will have interference noise. (The internal MixPre recording remains pristine.) 5

[V-Mount] This should be the standard battery sled for the Mixpre ii. I don't know what Sound Device is thinking when they design the AA battery sled. Huge design failure!. Keep falling and never securely locks. I like this sled better (Sound Device has one too). And when using it with Sony NP-F7XX, it last up 8+ hours (4 times longer than AA battery), and I'm sure it will last up to 12 hour (6 times longer) when using Sony NP-F9XX. The only cons is it's super thight. Don't use it if you plan to remove the sled very often. I suggest use USB-C port for file transfer when using this. 5
