Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens allow Focus Peaking with a Canon EOS RP if I use a Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R?

A: Yes. You will have focus peaking on the Canon EOS RP when using this lens.

Q: 2. What is the main difference between the Milvus and the Zeiss Planar 50 1.4 ZF.2 ?

A: The most notable difference would be the Milvus lenses ability to de-click the aperture ring. This allows for silent adjustment making these lenses ideal for video.

Q: 3. How is the image quality compared to the Canon 50mm f/1.2L?

A: I had the Canon 50mm f1.2L and replaced it with the Zeiss which, to me, is clearly superior. The Canon 50mm is a good lens, especially when stopped down to 2.8 or smaller. The Zeiss however presents almost no chromatic aberration noticeable to me even wide open, and the images are crisp and sharp to the corners using my 5DSR. I shoot mostly landscape and night images so I don't miss the autofocus. Yes, the Zeiss is more expensive, but it is a lens that I expect to keep as long as I am able to shoot with it.

Q: 4. I have the zeiss 15mm Milvus - what NisiI filter system is best?

A: The ZEISS Milvus 2.8/15 features a 95mm screw in filter and ZEISS provides both UV and POL filters in this size.

Q: 5. I'm wondering whether to go for the Tamron 35mm 1.8 VC and benefit from its AF and VC or to get the Zeiss Milvus 35mm f2 distagon. I use the D800e and own the Nikon 24-70 f2.8. I am looking for a prime lens with this focal range, i.e. the 35mm, to use for street photography, and really don't want to carry the weight of the 24-70. I don't mind a manual lens and I am more inclined to get the Milvus, but it's also around 650g and I'm not sure if the manual focusing will stand in the way. So Tamron vs. The Milvus? Thanks. One more thing, if you think the Milvus is a better option, should it be Milvus or the Zeiss classic f2 zf2 diatagon?

A: Hi there,I am a big fan of the Milvus Zeiss Family. My latest purchase which is from B & H is the Milvus 35mm F2.0 which is used for portrait and street photography to me this is a gain for a lense that is tac sharp point to point. I have no regrets over my purchase and please allow me to put you at ease on the manual focusing which is fast and accurate as I am using the Nikon D810 to pair up with the Milvus 35mm f2.0. This lense is light and worth carrying around. My advice to you is to get the Milvus and not the Classic ZF2 Distagon because the Milvus are considered the next generation of new lenses produced by Zeiss with better coatings and newer technologies to reduce flare, ghost and also barrel distortion. The Bokeh produced by the 35mm f2.0 is fantastic. Last and not least the 35mm f2.0 is also weather seal. You will not regret buying a lense with so many positive comments with a plus.Laurence

Q: 6. How well does this lens work on Nikon z8 with FTZ adapter? Thank you

A: Works very well. No issues to note.

Q: 7. Is there any noticeable focus breathing when shooting video ?

A: No, not really. However the canon version does not have a manual aperture and this can cause problems depending on what you are shooting.

Q: 8. Does this Milvus 15mm come with the lens shade in the box?

A: Yes, the ZEISS Milvus lenses are shipped with a metal lens shade included in the box. Unlike the previous Classic Distagon 2.8/15 lens that had a fixed lens shade, this new Milvus version features a removable shade. It can also be reversed on the lens for storage.

Q: 9. This case is listed as part of a bundle, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1395150-REG/zeiss_2257_908_milvus_zf_2_super_speed.html but that photo shows a different cutout configuration. Which cutout configuration comes with the bundled version?

A: The case configuration shown in this product photo is not correct. The transport case for the ZEISS Super Speed ZE Lens Bundle provides for 4 opening slots with the lenses laying horizontally. The photo will be updated shortly.

Q: 10. What is the diameter of the focus ring? I would like to put a gear ring to use a follow focus, but I need to know the diameter to buy an exact ring. The diameter of the focus ring is the same as its previous version Distagon T * 15mm f / 2.8 ZE?

A: The diameter of the focus ring on this lens is 80mm or 3.15 inches. That information is listed on this spec sheet. https://bhpho.to/38vHqaL

[Precut Foam] Love how stylish it looks, but also very protective and functional the case is. Perfect for your CP.3 set.

[Latch] This holds the XF705, and just about everything else I can humanly think to throw in it. Extremely well made and durable. The cuts are well thought out. I have 4 batteries (small ones have to be put in sideways) one small charger, one large charger, boom mic, shoe spotlight, SD Cards, other random chargers, etc. and still have room in it. Rolls very well. GREAT PRODUCT!

[Latch] This is the fourth case I've had from Jason Cases and it's fantastic. I have the original 6 lens Xeen case they made, but then Xeen came out with two more lenses and once I picked them up I knew I wanted the 8 lens case. It's (seriously) heavy and huge, for sure, but it has great custom cut foam and offers unbeatable protection for your lenses. Highly recommended.

[Precut Foam] They case is very well done. It has plenty of space to store items and is very durable. It is one of the few options available for the FX9.

[Latch] I just purchased 2 Black Magic URSA Studio cameras and knew the challenge to have one case include cameras, accessories and add extra studio viewfinder was going to be a challenge. Jason Cases was the best choice due to it's well-designed cases, and size. And the extra cutouts allowing for miscellaneous equipment was the icing on the cake!
Well Done!

[Yes] This case is big and you know that going in. It allows me to keep the FX9 totally built with a Small Rig baseplate and shoulder rig as well as a Gold mount adapter attached. There's a ton of well thought out space for batteries, a charger, cables and other essentials.
