The Chimera OctaPlus 6 High-Heat Lightbank 6ftfrom Chimera OctaPlus 6 High-Heat Lightbank 6ftis a 6' octagonal, soft light modifier with a silver interior designed to be used with high-heat LED lights. It is compatible with most fixtures supported by Chimera's line of separately available OctaPlus speed rings. The OctaPlus 6 comes with a full cloth front screen that absorbs approximately 1.4 stops of light and a removable internal baffle. A storage sack is also included for convenience.

A: As of the date/time of this reply I do not currently see a grid by Chimera or Aputure listed as compatible for use with this Chimera Medium Lightbank with Frame for Aputure P600c.

A: While you may get diffusers of different strengths for the front of the softbox, there are no inner baffles or diffusers designed for use inside the Chimera Universal LED TECH Lightbank (1 x 1').

Q: 3. What is the difference between the Expansion Support Kit model and the Expansion Kit models? Thank you.

A: Hi,I think what that the expansion support kit includes a couple extra pieces of hardware that gives extra support with mounting the head. It's a bracket mount.

Q: 4. Will this work with the joker 800 and/or joker 1600 hot lights? Not the new LED ones.

A: Yes, the following light shaping tools is designed for 3200 W (Hot Lights) Max.

A: You can use a B10x with a 5 or 7' octa. If it is adequate power will depend on the F/stop ISO and other lighting in the scene.

A: According to the manufacturer, both the 5 foot and 7 foot sizes can withstand up to 3200 watts of continuous lighting. However, Chimera does not offer an Octaplus ring for the Arri T2 Fresnel nor do they offer any other diffusion than the full stop diffuser that is included with the kit.

Q: 9. Does this work with Aputure MC Pro?

A: No, the Chimera Lightbank for Aputure AL-F7 is not compatible with the Aputure MC Pro light.

Q: 10. Is this safe to use with an Aputure 1200D? I'm curious if I'd need the high-heat version

A: The Chimera OctaPlus Hi-Heat Expandable Light Bank (5') (BH #CHOP5HH) would be a better choice for use with the Aputure LS 1200d Pro LED Light.

[Fabric] Actually used on Socanland 12x12 Bicolor. Fit like a champ. Far more efficient than clipping diffusion to barn doors. Get it! 5

[Yes, Removable] Five stars because it's a Chimera and it does what it's supposed to do. It also comes with three different diffusion covers so you have some options. But unlike the classic Chimera that has a frame, hooks into a speed ring, and can go on any light that accepts rings or scrims, this seems like it will only work on the Ikan 576s. There's no frame; it slides over the barn doors of the fixture and uses the built-in gel clips to secure itself in front of the LED bulbs. So if you have a different budget LED light of a similar size and you want this to work it will take some gaff taping. Maybe Chimera has a model for everything. I don't know; I haven't looked. 5

[Silver] We have tried to build our own Snoots for the 1x1 in the past. Nothing compares to this product for fit, durability and ease of use. If you have a 1x1 LitePanel and need to control the spill this product is well worth the money spent. 5

[Silver] Know that the Rotolight barn doors are necessary to use this. It is not at first obvious that the barn door wings slip into almost invisible pockets that are built into the Chimera. A simple installation note would have been a time-saver. Pleasing quality of light. It would be nice if the Rotolight carry-pouch was big enough to include the barn doors and Chimera folded up. 5

[Yes] Ive been using this soft box with a the 1k Lowell DP light and am loving the quality of light I'm getting out of this combo. It is quite cumbersome, so make sure you have the ceiling space to use this soft box. It also is quite heave to hang on a c-stand so make sure you buy the chimera stand adapter. The throw with the baffle is around 6' and without 12' I've found. Perfect for interviews, portraits and more! 5

[Yes] I love this little soft box. The AL-F7 is an incredible compact light that packs a punch and has a variety of power options, making it a go-to tool for run and gun production. Now, with the Chimera light bank it has become a main piece of my kit. Super easy to put on, very lightweight, comes in a nice storage bag to keep everytning in one place. the front diffusion is rigid which helps keep the structural integrity of the soft box. Very solid addition to this light, highly recommend! 5

[Yes] I am using this Chimera light bank on a Manfrotto Spectra 1'x1' LED. It is easy to put on, folds down quickly, and really helps to turn the light into a soft beautiful source. Price is reasonable for such a high quality product. 5

[Yes, Removable] This is the right ring for the 30 collapsible beauty dish. For the 24, you need the smaller ring. This ring is also great for regular softboxes, too!! Wish the price was lower...... 5
